To be fair on the gobshite, though, every April some smartarse has to inform us that St George was Turkish. If Turkey can be backdated, why not the EU? | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

He's the spitting image, perhaps Spanky is confusing Bremen with Birmingham? They also say "der Apfel fällt nicht weit vom Baum".

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | Spanky "Flip-flop" Trump now claims he "misspoke" at his press conference and that actually, he sees no reason why it was not Russia that meddled in the presidential election in the US.
It must be difficult, simultaneously sucking up to Putin, FOX News and Middle America. So many lies balls to keep in the air at the same time. | | | | | Sometimes Spanky looks like a little boy who has been told to apologise by his teacher!
He clearly stated "I accept our intelligence community's conclusion that Russia's meddling in the 2016 election took place." which was fine.
But then he could not resist adding the mischievous subtext "Could be other people also. A lot of people out there." so ruining the whole effect.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | What exactly are the parallels between Trump and dictators of the past? ....
... Shouting "Fake News" at a press which has been out to get you from day 1 is far different to locking up journalists or having them assassinated. | | | | | His repeated tweets about the 'failing NYT' and his extremely public refusal to take a question from CNN, who, love them or loathe them, are a legitimate news source, is abhorrent. Leaders always select who to give their exclusive interviews to, but that's usually where any blatant favouritism ends.
As for parallels, there are very blatant ones between Trump's views on the media and the speeches of Goebbels'. I don't know your command of German, but the speeches are very easily accessible via Google so you can hear the actual words. Even prior to Chamberlain's meeting with Hitler, Goebbels was accusing the International press of being Jewish controlled and having 'lying mouths', and made the threat (which nobody took seriously at the time) that one day their "insolent lying mouths will be shut for them".
Trump is nowhere near as extreme in his disregard and abhorrence of the press, but he's a way down that path. Anyone who thinks they are fit to lead others needs to be accountable and held up to public scrutiny. It's a basic part of the job description. Any leader who actively seeks to shut down a legitimate avenue of that scrutiny, should set public alarm bells off.

He instantly folded his arms as tight as he could and drew his chin into his chest (making the target as small as possible), and it was a good few minutes before he relaxed again. It makes me wonder if he ever had to dodge a left hook from his dad.

Like I said, the links are tenuous at best. | Quote: | | | | | Well calling out legitimate and long standing news sources as liars. A fascist would lock them up
Denouncing his own intelligence agencies in relation to investigations on himself. A fascist use their own intelligence agencies to remove dissenters
Colluding with a dictator *ahem* and enemy of the Nation he is the in charge of in meddling with the democratic process.Trump's collusion still hasn't been proven
Pushing an agenda that is not about inclusivity of the American people and all those that live there. erm, America First?
Having counsel from members of the “alt right”. "alt-right" is a term used just as loosely by the left as the term "fascist" is.
Dismantling the social system. This has nothing to do with fascism
I could continue but you get the point. You are right he is not a fascist, but he is employing the tactics that have been used by fascism. | | | | | | The following 2 users would like to thank for this useful post: | | This user groans at for this post:

WTF!!
So either Spanky agreed to stuff he now does not want to explain or the Russians are pulling his string; which is easy to do after an undocumented one to one meeting!
Either way Trump has egg on his face.
Reminds me of how N. Korea claimed he agreed to drop sanctions in his one to one meeting with Kim!

These examples just show that he's been totally stitched up by making rookie errors.

Wonder if Trump realizes, this is turnning into a really 'bad thing'
But don't formal agreements need to be in writing?
I wouldn't want to be the translator here
Seems to me, the only day Trump should be let out into the public is April 1st.

I think he sh*t bricks while with the Tzar, so said it to not cause friction, and once out of Russia tried to deny it. Something you could have got away with before the invention of recording devices, when maybe a deal was carried out in a private back room.
Then he makes a statement about what he said, and at the end backtracks to throw in ambiguity. He's like a toddler, but thats doing a diservice to toddlers as they much smarter then he is. But he is and its almost as if he has bypassed the ability to accept guilt in anything he does. Impeach I say.
