Yeah, it'll never happen to them. | | | | | In theory, yes, but...... | Quote: | | | | | If they are allowed to keep their guns, its all good.
I think what we are trying to say is there is a gradual erosion of civil liberties going on, not soley attributable to the Spankmonkey, but he is endorsing those and trying to erode more civil liberties, but as long as he doesn't mess with the gun laws its MAGA.
Only happened once, this one is getting close to it though, he's done more then enough to warrant it, problem is he seems to own the Senate, Congress and Republicans. | | | | | |

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | He is a never ending source of gossip. Mixed emotions, if and when he goes it'll be a great loss to all us EF users. | | | | | Sarcasm. People are so into him (in a good and bad way) because he choses to occupy them exactly as they need. Rule no. 1 of media popularity. I gotta give it to him, despite disliking the whole circus, but it looks like he gets stuff done. Plus, nobody else made Putin nervous before, осторожно!

This is the second time I notice, you actually claim Trump "chooses". | | | | | Yep. And if he did not matter to people they would choose to ignore him. Which they do not. Ignoring Trump is the only thing that could possibly slow him down, I think. He is feeding off controversy, and if he runs out of it he tweets for some more. It is not dumb, takes very little time/effort/cash. In the meantime he is doing his presidential stuff.

I predict that they will be quoting Trump as soon as he starts criticizing the next unpopular Republican to move into the White House.

We cannot ignore the Leader of the Free World, no matter whom it happens to be at any given time.

I bet by the time the world gets over the extreme reaction to him, he will have some decent work to show. I think he is honest in that aspect. And nobody wants to give him Nobel prize. How did Obama get it, remind me?

Gone are the days when politicians at least tried to keep up a facade of competence, now the prize goes to the person that likes to convince the media he can't tie his own shoe laces or string a coherent sentence together.

Naturally he can't be ignored. Guess ignoring a jumbo who's pilot has gone unconscious would be a good idea?

Well, there are a couple of points.
He couldn't care less about people calling him names.
Out of all the people out there, he is pulling it all off. How do I know? Because he keeps doing it. It is steady and it is him. People wouldn't own up to voting him, just as people don't own up to slowly starting to trust him.
In all the hysterics that is out there, right now - he is the least panicky. And I think it makes people actually focus on progress, instead of obstructing him and sabotaging him.
People got busy with outrage and exhausted themselves. The collective and social aspect of it and group dynamics has toned down, the noise was tiring for everybody.
I never thought he was dumb. I dislike most of the schtick but it seems necessary?

On the fake news topic;
A White House stenographer says she resigned over the Trump administration's lack of respect for her office and Trump's refusal to allow stenographers in the room for meetings and interviews with some journalists that crossed a line. | Quote: | | | | "Mr. Trump likes to call anyone who disagrees with him 'fake news.' But if he’s really the victim of so much inaccurate reporting, why is he so averse to having the facts recorded and transcribed?" | | | | | "Perhaps he didn’t fully understand the role of the stenographer. That would make sense, since his administration had rebuffed every invitation from the Obama transition team during an inherently stressful time, including to learn how to keep the lights on," she wrote. He is after the trade mainly but violence is always in the way of a good business.

I never thought he was dumb. Pretend it doesn't happen. If you take away all of that and just view Trump as the man, do you honestly think he has achieved much?
Can you even make a list of what he has successfully achieved since he became president?
You make a lot of assumptions about what people are thinking and how they are perceived but there's not much substance and fact to your posting.
Do you know he doesn't care about being called names? The evidence would suggest otherwise but you seem to know better.
Is he really "pulling it off"?

#winning... | | | | | It doesn't have to be that way, and I definitely hope things will normalize again and future presidents will exercise more decorum.
I don't at all like the thought of a spawn of Trump wannabees, thinking they can do what he did by copying his style. But alas I think we may see a phase of that. But that will pass.
At worst he's a fool, and at best he's a super genius tactically pretending to be a fool. and in all probability he's somewhere on a sliding scale between the two. That scale doesn't have a Hitler point. People need to see some perspective here.
