It's not a discussion, it's a monologue.

Someone who immediately dismisses contradicting statements with ..
"That is exactly what people say when they are being opposed and cannot take it. Selfrighteousness will do that."
... is showing exactly zero interest in an actual discussion.

In fact MC displays exactly the selfrighteousness (and arrogance) she reproaches others of.

On 486 pages (on my display) I have not seen you complain about people calling each other names (stupid, jerk to mention the repeatable ones) but the moment one comes and voices an opinion that doesn't match yours "Selfrighteousness will do that" is "showing exactly zero interest in an actual discussion". Because jerk, stupid etc. are such productive approaches in discussions.

Actually you just made "That is exactly what people say when they are being opposed and cannot take it. Selfrighteousness will do that." come true.

I cannot imagine what it means to be American and having to watch this on TV.
Who says Americans have to watch TV?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

America's brilliant. It's still the most ambitious, most vigorous, most diverse country on the planet. It's still lighting cigars with $50 bills. It's still a place of soul food, metalheads, trigger happy cops, casinos, electric cars, yard sales, expensive hospital visits and tasteless tat.

The fact that the president is a traitor won't change any of that.

For most Americans it's no problem, just a problem for those on EF.

Tom
Why is that?

Maybe that is why Trump can be their potus. Same principle. A brilliant traitor, then. He is trying to change other things than how to act/look/communicate in a bizarre way and still become potus.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes used political donations to pay for nearly $15,000 in tickets to Boston Celtics basketball games as well as winery tours.
His PAC also spent about $42,741 since 2013 on catering, site rentals, hotels and meals in Las Vegas.
Mostly all spent outside of his district in California.

All Boston, Vegas and winery charges were listed as fundraising expenses.

American politics has also, with maybe a small number of exceptions, never been particularly principled. Do what serves you best and invent a half-arsed moral justification later. In America, you are judged by the result and not by the method. In Europe we like people who try hard. In America they like people who succed, whether or not they tried hard.

The ends justify the mean, and thus morality is flexible. It wasn't until half way through the Civil War that Lincoln discovered he didn't actually despise black people any more. It wasn't until WW2 was over that Truman discovered he hated Stalin.

And that works, because above all, Americans respect success. Nixon was done in, not because of what he did wrong, but for failing to come up with a sufficiently plausible lie.

I think this is something where Europeans often misunderstand Americans.

I think Europeans actively do not want to, not that they wouldn't be capable of understanding.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Vladimir Putin told Russian diplomats that he made a proposal to Donald Trump at their summit this week to hold a referendum [in eastern Ukraine] to help resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine

Source

Meanwhile Putin demonstrated goodwill "Russia announces new nuclear weapons tests days after Trump-Putin summit"

Source

US Senate approves resolution today warning Trump not to hand over US officials for Russian interrogation, Senators voted 98-0.

Trump described this Russian interrogation nonsense as "an incredible offer" and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Wednesday that President Trump is open to letting Russian investigators come to the United States to question U.S. citizens, including a former American ambassador to Russia.

They really should not allow Trump out to play with the big boys
Mostly he does not understand the significance of the topics discussed or the potential consequences of his actions.

Thank god for some sanity.

It really makes you wonder just what kind of dirt Putin might have on DT ( or maybe on Don Junior or that other weasel offspring of his)

If I had to guess, id imagine it's something of this magnitude:

I'm also still very curious to know what exactly Kim sent DT in that ridiculously oversized letter...perhaps a note saying ' Vlad told me all about that unfortunate 'incident' in St. Petersburg. Ready to stop those war games now, pumpkinhead?'

Problem is that Kim and Putin know very well Trump is desperate for a big win and he will continue to shout these were the best summits ever, bigly, no matter how much cr#p they pour on him.

I can imagine Putin and his inner circle sitting in the Kremlin with vodka and Cuban cigars having a laugh about which Trump string to pull next!

In addition to Don Jr and Barron (his alias!), Spanky has three other children, remember? (Yeah, I know. You forgot about the one named after a jewellery store, didn't you?! No, not Christ!) The one who most resembles a weasel is this one:

I didn't forget, I simply don't have a clue

I think I mentioned before that I'm not interested in private affairs of official people. So what jewellery store was one named after? LOL. (And why not Christ, wouldn't that be the least for a Trump son? )

PS: You had a picture in your post (I saw it when I quoted) which I can not see and not call up if I type the address into the browser.
I keep having that problem - and only know because the link is in the quote yet still not usuable for me

PPS: Managed to call up the picture. But can't see it within EF

It would have been much better for you if you hadn't persevered in finding that picture.

That bejewelled offspring—I think her name is Van Cleef. Rumour has it that Spanky and Marla didn't have a second child because they couldn't think of a suitable name for it, to fit with their firstborn.

You speak in riddles.
All it was was a picture of a boy who seems doomed to look as stupid as his father once he grows up.

My edit of my last post was much more riddle-iculous!

But speaking of the photo, you didn't look at his mouth, did you? The mouth—DO NOT LOOK AT HIS MOUTH!
