The Koch brothers are well-known Republican supporters. However they don't like how the party has been pulled to the fringe by so they are backing more "traditional" conservatives or simply not backing the R candidate if they think that person doesn't fit their values.

Whether that will work, who knows. I don't know if people think it's okay, but they are accustomed to it.
If the Koch bros are trying to keep the Republicans center-right that's fine with me. I'm sick of the fringes and polarization, it's time for parties to start working together a bit more instead of the trench warfare that has been going on.

The Supreme Court removed a lot of the rules surrounding donations to political parties and candidates, so it's a free-for-all if you've got enough dough.
I don't think that really matters. George Soros uses NGO's as cover for his political activities. And the Koch's $400 million is peanuts to Soro's billions...

George Soros, the billionaire hedge fund manager and a major Democratic donor, has given $18 billion to his Open Society Foundations, one of the largest transfers of wealth ever made by a private donor to a single foundation.

Kim promised to stop testing missiles. He did not promise to stop building them. The devil is in the details.

The globalist Koch Brothers, who have become a total joke in real Republican circles, are against Strong Borders and Powerful Trade.
I never sought their support because I don’t need their money or bad ideas.
They love my Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judicial picks & more.
I made them richer.
Their network is highly overrated, I have beaten them at every turn.
They want to protect their companies outside the U.S. from being taxed,
I’m for America First & the American Worker - a puppet for no one. Two nice guys with bad ideas. Make America Great Again!
The GOP will go into meltdown, Trump may not need Koch Brothers money but many GOP candidates do; especially those in constituencies with strong Democrat opponents

So is the $400 Million promised to support GOP in mid terms at risk?

Am I getting that right: These Koch brothers spend a fortune on plitical parties (well the democrats), officially and also officially tell that party how to do politics to keep them happy and their money flowing?
No, that's definitely not right! At least, not up until now. Who knows whom the Koch brothers might support now!

I think that the people with money will surely have figured out by now that they have literally "used up" the two-party system in the US and that is has no credibility left with so many people that it's starting to affect elections.

Thus, they're probably trying to get behind something new. Because people clearly made a point of voting-in "something new" last time (if they got what they wanted - I don't know).

We'll see early enough.

Doesn't every party in every election try to leverage their guy as something totally new.

The original Obama campaign was all about that.

Isn't that just part of the talk.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

It worked for Obama.

It worked for Trump, too. But he really was a total outsider (and an outlier).
Still is.

Most politicians aren't outsiders. Neither Democrats or Republicans would endorse a candidate that hasn't gone "through the system" for a couple of decades.

And given what people know of the political system these days, it would be impossible to claim for somebody who has the support of any of the two parties that he is really "not like the rest".

The GOP was in a way quite similar to the other victims of Trump: the money, the fame and the prospects were just too good to pass up and it was supposed to only last a few minutes anyway...

I think "new" is a relatively recent introduction by BO, before it was just "better".

Nobody in a position of power wants fundamental change (perhaps unless they think they're in the driver's seat and think they can steer, but all too often the revolutions eats its children), they have too much to lose.

Interesting debate in the US now.

Some lawyers are claiming the way Trump's tweet is worded makes it an official Presidential order to Sessions to stop Mueller's investigation.

Trump's lawyers and the White House are furiously back pedalling!!

Did I ever post you could not make this stuff up

Will Trump rescind his tweet or double down?
