Fox News’s senior political analyst Brit Hume brushed off President Trump’s most recent Twitter attack against special counsel Robert Mueller, in which the president compared Mueller to Sen. Joseph McCarthy.
... | | | | | Its become a pattern for Spanky to say not just a lie but the opposite of the truth, 'no one has more respect for women', 'no one is tougher on Russia' 'enemy of the people' and who could forget 'no collusion' I'm wondering when the Spanky fans will wake up to it; it must be a struggle having to believe new shit everyday,

Still holds up, after all that time - because people are still people.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | According to the Washington Post Trump averaged 16 lies per day in June and July. | | | | | The WaPo better check their own "facts". A drop by 1k in a year until May 2018, followed by a rise of 1.2k during the following 3 months, simply makes no sense.
Net 229 lies over 15 months isn't much either, I bet every POTUS (including Barry) lied more often.
This is going to bite them. Very hard. And with utmost reason (assuming google didn't f**k up, can't check the source, hopefully marton will).

Well, this is America - if they count the lies like they count the votes....

It is important to understand the difference between news and opinions.
Newspapers print news and it is the role of journalists to write objective news.
Then newspapers print editorials which reflect the views of the editorial board so you have left leaning like CNN and right leaning like the Wall Street Journal, or in Switzerland Tagesanzeiger and Basler Zeitung.
Finally newspapers print opinions which reflect the views of the author and these may or may not reflect the views of the editorial board.
It will never happen that a newspaper does not have a recognizable opinion since they aim at a target audience to differentiate themselves from competitors.
So long as the news articles are objective and the editorials and opinions are clearly labelled then I do not see your problem? | | | | | |

I agree this is confusing.
Below is a time graph from the database!
Meanwhile despite Trump's brave words about giving White House counsel Don McGahn permission to talk to Special Counsel Mueller it is claimed that both he and his lawyers believed McGahn only met Mueller once, not three times! Much clucking in the hen house Source
And finally a thoughtful non partisan opinion piece about Trump's tariffs here worth reading.
Nobody, including the Chinese, seem to understand Trump's strategy. For example, dropping all tariffs to zero seems to be opposite to Trump's aim to protect the US. Likely would benefit imports more than exports since there are many low cost producers like China and Mexico?

The middle link consists of porkies told before and immediately after he landed the top job. The other two are after only.

Where’s the Collusion? They made up a phony crime called Collusion, and when there was no Collusion they say there was Obstruction (of a phony crime that never existed).
If you FIGHT BACK or say anything bad about the Rigged Witch Hunt, they scream Obstruction! | | | | | Ironic thing is that it is Trump who keeps using the word collusion.
The letter appointing Mueller actually says "[to investigate] any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump"

More daily Trump-cringe... | Quote: | | | | “So if I say something and he (Comey) says something, and it’s my word against his, and he’s best friends with Mueller, so Mueller might say: ‘Well, I believe Comey,’ and even if I’m telling the truth, that makes me a liar. That’s no good.”
...
Trump asserted that he retained the power to intervene in the probe, but that he had chosen not to do so for the moment.
His administration, Trump said, was “a smooth-running machine, except in that world. And I’ve decided to stay out. Now I don’t have to stay out.
“I can go in, and I could do whatever — I could run it if I want. But I decided to stay out,” he said. “I’m totally allowed to be involved if I wanted to be. So far, I haven’t chosen to be involved. I’ll stay out.” | | | | | At least he seems to have progressed from tantrum toddler to petulant teenager...

Toe-curling. | | | | | Weird, it does not matter what Mueller believes; it is a question of what can be proven in a court of law!
Meanwhile Trump continues threatening any critics by removal of their security clearances; whatever happened to the First Amendment? | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
Just watched former Intelligence Official Phillip Mudd become totally unglued and weird while debating wonderful @PARISDENNARD over Brennan’s Security Clearance. Dennard destroyed him but Mudd is in no mental condition to have such a Clearance. Should be REVOKED? @seanhannity | | | | | BTW, the interview was on CNN so why the Fox New commentator "@seanhannity" is mentioned is not obvious. Maybe Mudd is not the only one who is weird?
Anyway nice to see CNN not accused of "Fake News" and one of their team classed as "wonderful".

Trump seems to believe that ex-Govt. employees who have security clearances can get good and well paid jobs which they could not get without their security clearances. Consequently he is damaging them by this removal.
Many ex-Govt. employees deny this Trump view?
Maybe somebody here knows better?

He doesn't do anything until he gets the go-ahead from SH.

GOP leadership faced pressure from both conservatives and the White House to stay in town so the Senate leader McConnell cancelled most of the August recess.
The only fly in the ointment is that many senators, mostly Republican, have regularly failed to turn up for work leaving the Democrats holding the majority! Source
