| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? Spanky getting some flak today for sending out a bunch of political tweets on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attack. Omarosa has released a bunch of new tapes which do not confirm anything new but demonstrate Spanky's inability to stay focused on the topic under discussion for more than a few seconds.
Possibility that Hurricane Florence will disrupt air travel this week and cause the House to cancel voting this week which would cut the number of voting days from 7 to 4 for the remainder of September.
Anyway Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) on Tuesday declared a state of emergency in anticipation of Hurricane Florence.
This could pose additional problems for House Republicans’ agenda where a number of critical items have to be passed this month, not least to finalise Govt. spending for fiscal 2019.
Trump has cancelled his campaign rallies planned for Thursday and Friday due to Florence, also cancelled his Irish trip but no reason given for that!
A union representing the country's 350 immigration judges slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions for comments he made that suggested they were sidestepping the law and showing too much sympathy when handling certain cases.
Last eight major polls show Trump's popularity falling despite the strong economy.
A top economic adviser to President Trump acknowledged on Monday that the president's tweet earlier in the day inaccurately claimed the country's gross domestic product (GDP) is higher than the unemployment rate for the first time in 100 years. The correct statistic is 10 years.

Big news day
GOP the party of fiscal rectitude!! | Quote: | | | | The federal deficit hit $895 billion in the first 11 months of fiscal 2018, an increase of $222 billion, or 32 percent, over the same period the previous year, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
The nonpartisan CBO reported that the central drivers of the increasing deficit were the Republican tax law and the bipartisan agreement to increase spending. | | | | | Source
Meanwhile according to the Woodward book Trump's plan to help eliminate the federal debt was to print more money! ! |

NBC is reporting intercepted communications have led the US intelligence services to suspect the Russian government's involvement in the curious case of 26 sick US officials in Cuba in 2016. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/latin-a...-china-n908141
This is genuinely weird and related to a new type of microwave neuro-weapon, more about the tech here: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/01/s...microwave.html
At the time of the attack, US-Cuba had struck a new more friendly relationship. It has broken down since.

New record claimed | Quote: | | | | Bob Woodward's new book, "Fear: Inside the Trump White House," sold more than 750,000 copies through its first day of release, the most for any title in Simon & Schuster history, according to the 94-year-old publisher. | | | | | Source
Whatever the effect of this book has or not on Trump supporters, it has certainly increased distrust between White House staff members to Defcon 1. 3000 people did not die in the two hurricanes that hit Puerto Rico.
When I left the Island, AFTER the storm had hit, they had anywhere from 6 to 18 deaths.
As time went by it did not go up by much. Then, a long time later, they started to report really large numbers, like 3000. | | | | | The 3,000 figure is as reported by Trump's own Government!
Thousands of Puerto Ricans expected to attend protests planned at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Floriday club a week from Saturday.
Unfortunately for Trump many Puerto Rico citizens (who are US citizens) made homeless by the hurricanes moved to Florida.

In a sense Trump is right. Many of the 3000 that died on PR died from the consequences of no electricity, closed airports, ports and other infrastructure damage, falling trees etc.
They were killed by the Hurricane, just not immediately.

The 3,000 figure is as reported by Trump's own Government! | | | | | Not just by the government, but in the non-partisan NEJM too.

In the second half of his tweet (which I did not post) he wrote " I was successfully raising Billions of Dollars to help rebuild Puerto Rico".
He presented no evidence and I could not find any evidence to support his claim!
What Billions of Dollars? Where are they?

Trump still disputing his own official Govt. statistics! | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump Retweeted @LouDobbs
#FakeNews- The Hurricane Maria death tolls have been inflated & President @realDonaldTrump was right to call out organizations who threw out science and statistics to try to discredit his administration. #MAGA #TrumpTrain #Dobbs | | | | | So are the official Govt. statistics about GDP and unemployment also fake news? |
