Aside from the veracity of Ford's claim, I think he will appear snivelly to some of the more conservative members - this is not what one wants in a supreme court judge.
The vote will be interesting indeed! Still more to go with how Kavanaugh handles the interrogation. Clearly he feels violated given his testimony; will be interesting to see how that and the interrogation plays out...

The vote will be interesting!!
Not at all, the GOP will vote for Kavenaugh and the Dems against.

Meanwhile from Trump's favourite media Fox News;

Quote:
"I think Dr. Ford is exceptionally credible," Fox's top legal analyst, Judge Andrew Napolitano, said.

"A lot of folks" are "viewing her as a very credible witness," Supreme Court correspondent and 11 p.m. anchor Shannon Bream said.

After the first break at Thursday's hearing, "Fox News Sunday" moderator Chris Wallace said "this is a disaster for the Republicans."

Good to hear the fake news media being quoted

But it is not a game, a very serious decision is close to being concluded.
Aww Marton..You had to respond? And to think I was using restraint/discipline not to respond to your previous post where you cited The Hill as not liberal (yes it is quasi left):

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-hill/

And then you go on to quote of all sources MotherJones???

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/?s=mother+jones

Hmmm Marton..not good!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Can I also say I'm impressed (bewildered?) by the fact Kavanaugh has detailed calendars from 1982, and probably including names of people he was with. That's some attention to detail!

Edit to add: I think Lindsay Graham just stole the show. He's the one totally off the rails.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

From Kavenaugh's statement to the Senate today;

"This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit fueled with apparent pent-up anger about Pres. Trump & the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons"

Does this give one confidence that Kavenaugh will be an objective Supreme Court justice free from partisan influence?

Regardless of the sexual harassment stuff this statement should surely cause the Senate to pause?
I mean who advised him to give this?

Edit: Former White House ethics chief Norm Eisen said Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s emotional testimony Thursday is a “taste” of how Kavanaugh must act while drinking!!

Sorry but I disagree! Graham was extremely effective and both Ford and Kavanaugh were impressive in their testimony. Both came off as believable but as Ford does not have witnesses and those she cited as potential witnesses refuted her claim, think they will vote for Kavanaugh. But who knows?

Obviously the committee will vote on party lines, the GOP for Kavanaugh and the Dems against.

The real question is "will the GOP have enough votes in the full Senate vote"!

James Roche, Kavanaugh's roommate in the Fall 1983, issued a statement saying that Kavanaugh was a "notably heavy drinker, even by the standards of the time."

"(H)e became aggressive and belligerent when he was very drunk," Roche said.

He did remember "Brett frequently drinking excessively and becoming incoherently drunk."

Nevermind Trump, what a disgrace that this is now international news. Live feeds and opinion on what is essentially one word against another. Commentators discussing who is more “credible”. Forget about the rule of law and welcome to the age of trial by social media. Oh come sweet asteroid of doom.

Again, this is not a trial, not even in Court, it is a Senate review

Quote:
Republicans said they feel a sense of resignation that Kavanaugh had mishandled the situation from the beginning, by trying to portray himself as a choir boy instead of admitting that he drank heavily in high school, college and law school as multiple classmates and yearbook entries have shown.
A better strategy, White House officials conceded, would have been to admit he didn’t remember the assault described by Ford, but that he believed her story and issue her an apology.

Is that better or worse than the news cycle being driven than a reality TV President?

I do not know the answer!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Whether Kavanaugh did what he was accused of or or not-such a psycho should not be sitting in a top judicial post in USA. He has no control of himself ( and his face ) and such a top post assumes self control and composure-all the things that he lacks!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Not sure I would go so far as to label him a psycho, but his level of anger and ability to control that anger does not make me confident in his ability. Twenty five to thirty years of this guy does not bode well for the court.

But again, just my opinion.

at the very least, the American Bar Association suggests delaying the vote till the allegations are investigated.

If I was being falsely accused of a sexual assault from 36 years ago which was now putting my career in jeopardy I'd probably be whining about it too.

"falsely accused"?. No comment needed

Cruz needs to get his strikes in now because his chances of reelection look ever worse.

DC leaks like an old sieve!
