if you look at the map you see it's primarily cali + a few spots along the coast that is hillary. she had a disproportionate margin in this immensely populous state that is driving the popular vote on its own.
basically: hillary won cali, trump won america.
urban vs the rest, just like brexit. | | | | | The democratic principle is that the candidate with the most votes wins.
Whichever way you slice the bacon, the US managed to screw up this simple idea.

Whichever way you slice the bacon, the US managed to screw up this simple idea. | | | | | well trump had the most votes in this particular system which is why he won. if hrc played a different game that is of course her right but cant blame the system for it.
besides, simple majority was hardly acceptable for you and/or many other opponents of brexit. so it sounds like you would just accept the rules of the game only when you win.

Switzerland is also a federation, we still manage to count all the votes and take the majority result. |

Priebus (Trump chief of staff) says Democrats to blame for email hack, thinks Trump accepts intel findings. Source | Quote: | | | | IF the butterfly courted the bee,
And the owl the porcupine;
If churches were built in the sea,
And three times one was nine;
If the pony rode his master,
If the buttercups ate the cows,
If the cats had the dire disaster
To be worried, sir, by the mouse;
If mamma, sir, sold the baby
To a gypsy for half a crown;
If a gentleman, sir, was a lady,—
The world would be Upside-down!
If any or all of these wonders
Should ever come about,
I should not consider them blunders,
For I should be Inside-out!

80.7% of the us population lives in urban areas.
omg manwithnoname is literally saying that a handful of people living in the woods somehow won the vote against the rest of the country, what an idiot lololol.

While the CIA has asserted that Russia intervened in the US election and gave Trump the upper hand, a closer look reveals that it was another nefarious European country that caused the Trump win - Germany:
The Germans are back - Deutschland über alles!

I'd like to commend Meryl Streep on her exceptionally brave performance at the Golden Globes last night. If 2016 has taught us anything, it's that actors know what's best for the world. https://www.theguardian.com/film/201...h-donald-trump | The following 3 users would like to thank for this useful post:

Although Urs Max is more right. From the second link...:
"According to the Census Bureau, a place is "urban" if it's a big, modest or even very small collection of people living near each other. That includes Houston, with its 4.9 million people, and Bellevue, Iowa, with its 2,543."

Switzerland is also a federation, we still manage to count all the votes and take the majority result. | | | | | Not necessarily. Some votes require a double majority as in majority of votes and majority of cantons.

“Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart —you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I’m one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you’re a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what’s going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what’s going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it’s all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don’t, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us.”
Erm, what?
