As far as I've seen on this thread and in other material - it's only the more right wing types that use this term anyway. And even then it just seems to be an excuse to allow them to just be as toxic as they like to whomever they like.
You don't need reasoned argument anymore, you just need to have the most toxic battery of meaningless insults. For those people Trump is reinforcing this behaviour and is therefore their champion.

"Proven" failure due to a tweet? | | | | | Even Piers Morgan, who is a longtime personal friend of Trump, disagrees with him on Streep being a failure. Morgan said on tv this morning that Trump's MO is "you have a jab at me and I'll have a jab at you". Not very mature.

so basically what youre saying is that you dont like people that you dont like

PC is clearly abused by both sides of the fence, however it has at least pushed us forward from the 80s/90s where it was completely acceptable (and considered funny, see Jim Davidson, Berhard Manning etc) to make jokes about N-ers, P-kis, Poofders etc. I think we can all be grateful our mainstream society is free of that toxicity.
What people say on their own private time is up to them, they can be as racist and homophobic etc as they want, their business. In a modern day scoiety though, we really don't need it in our daily lives as if it were acceptable to espouse these views. People are still free to do so of course, but then also have to face the consequences society has for being racist.

I'm glad he's focusing on the real important issues in the world. Foreign policy? Who cares, attack an actress on Twitter instead. Domestic policy? Who cares, tweet an attack to the press that critizises him.
I'm happy he's got his priorities straight. Apparently, reading or writing anything that is longer than 140 characters is too much to ask.

And yes, I find knobheads on both side of the political landscape. Some people on here would be an utter cock whether they shared or disagreed with my political view.

The world doesn't run on taking offense, and claiming to be offended. With social media, its reached a point when any and every person can express their outrage at feeling offending. Anyone can take offense at anything. I'd like to pass the crescendo of it all. Personally, I mentally turn it off and sometimes even ridicule it now, Meryl Streeps! Some things are best for people to deal with on their own.
In any case, I think its high time for people to bring more value to the table than merely claiming to take offense at something or having been offended. Its ultimately better for everything and everybody.

im cool with that because you can say anything you want. as long as you back it up with arguments. simply calling someone a troll to dismiss what is said and then walk away is shit.
the real irony is then, that the left starts whining about decency when the word libtard is mentioned.

It is like people are programmed to sabotage progress at any cost. As long as the world is occupied by defining the level of perceived offence..
Thomas Sowell has a few great videos (from so long ago, too) on the subject.

cant wait for another discussion about semantics below | | | | | You reply to perceived slights very quickly for someone who doesn't care about them, partner.
We don't need to have the discussion about why 'Untermensch' has far more sinister connotations than your argument is willing to admit. All good.
