"When 97% of experts are of the same opinion do you trust your gut instincts instead?" | | | | | Was that a question in the survey?
For example, there is a question on renewable energy, but nothing on nuclear energy, health care, GMOs, alternative medicine, etc (OK, some of my pet subjects, but anyway).

Maybe they do, but it's not immediately obvious to me. You could argue nuclear power is a left wing thing because nuclear power and research is mostly run by the government and heavily dependent on government policy and grants - so less government means less nuclear. I know quite a few nuclear scientists and not one of them is anything remotely approaching right of centre. But you could also argue the left likes renewable energy more, So where do these effects cancel out?
Likewise alternative medicine. You could argue that alternative medicine is firmly in the hands of the Woodstock generation and practiced by bearded hippies in wooly jumpers and their shamanic brides who talk to trees and sing about being one with nature and KumBaYa - people who you would assume to be pretty left wing politically. But you could equally argue that this is a misconception and that those views have diffused over the population as a whole.

For a purported "populist" survey, it misses out some pretty emotive subjects to which populists often refer, such as health-care, climate change, abortion, gun control etc.

Democrats claimed 8.6 million more votes than Republicans in the midterm House races earlier this month, according to data compiled by NBC News, pulling off the party’s biggest midterm victory since the Watergate scandal.
NBC reported on Wednesday that Democrats defeated Republicans by the largest margin of victory since the party earned 8.7 million more votes than Republicans in 1974, shortly after President Richard Nixon (R) resigned from the Oval Office.
So far, Democrats have earned 53.1 percent of the overall vote in this month’s House races while Republicans took 45.2 percent – and the gap is reportedly widening as more votes roll in. Source
Imagine how well the Dems would do if they had policies
