How does he get away with the constant lying?
Simple.
Like some other politicians too, he tells people what they want to hear. Confirmation bias.

Remember how Brexiteers were lying about huge amounts of money that will be dropped out of the sky onto the NHS? And people believed it? Something in that style.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

I told my wife I was getting her a diamond ring for xmas, and I was going to get her dad to pay for it but he refused, so now I'm demanding my wife pay for it and we'll get her the money back by stiffing him for something in the future, is that so wrong?

Kurdish forces have been the US’s most important ground partner in the fight against Isis, but Ankara (Turkey) views them as a terrorist threat and extension of the Kurdish separatist movement within its own borders.

Poor Kurds, having to choose between Assad and Erdogan!
Their partnership with the US earned them a huge stab in the back from Trump!

Frankly, basically the entire story of Jesus is invention. Virgin birth? Angels talking to people?

But there are those who believe this stuff, and those who still believe Matthew's story.

It would be helpful if you read the thread before posting. That way you'd avoid repeating information already given.

Indeed, hence my attribution of the claim to "received wisdom amongst believers in the Bible".
I did read the thread, but at first it seemed the information hadn't gotten through. I see now that I had mixed up the order of posts.

My mistake.

Dow stock index finished slightly lower today.

With just one trading day left this year it will take a miracle for Trump to avoid being the first President since 2008 to have had a negative year on Wall St!

House Republicans on Friday announced that their investigation into FBI and Justice Department (DOJ) decision-making during the 2016 presidential election has concluded, marking the end of a winding probe launched last fall.

The joint probe — led by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and Judiciary panel — sought to investigate what Republicans allege was bias against President Trump by the top brass at the two agencies during the heated presidential race.
Source

They failed to issue any final reports; just a couple of letters repeating old allegations without evidence.

California’s Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said on Friday evening that the Republican investigation was ending “not with a bang, but with a Friday, buried-in-the-holidays whimper, and one foot out the door”.

President Donald Trump issued an executive order Friday freezing federal workers' pay for 2019, following through on a proposal he announced earlier in the year.

The move nixes a 2.1% across-the-board pay raise that was set to take effect in January.
This comes as hundreds of thousands of federal employees are expecting to begin the new year furloughed or working without pay because of a partial government shutdown.

I am in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come on over and make a deal on Border Security.
From what I hear, they are spending so much time on Presidential Harassment that they have little time left for things like stopping crime and our military!
Dems are happy to have Trump own the Govt. shutdown and so are in no hurry to stop it. They are waiting for a clear commitment from Trump on what he is prepared to sign; he already reneged on what he promised to sign last week.

Trump assumed they would be banging on his door begging for a deal instead he is home alone!

Why Trump believes they want to stop "our military" is not clear?

So you believe the former bull market that Trump claimed the credit for also had nothing to do with Trump?

White House press deputy Hogan Gidley blasted a reporter who questioned whether or not President Trump was working at his Oval Office desk on Monday.

Playboy reporter and CNN analyst Brian Karem tweeted Monday morning that Trump was lying when he claimed to be in the Oval Office because no Marine was stationed outside the door, which is customary when the president is in the office.
Source

Gidley fired back, saying he saw Trump himself in the Oval Office minutes before his tweet.

And, of course Trump, like his team never tell lies!

As forecast, Trump is the first President since 2008 to preside over a negative year on Wall St.; all three major indices are down 4 to 6%.

Meanwhile one of the country’s largest unions representing federal workers is suing the Trump administration over the government shutdown, claiming that it is illegal to require employees to work without pay.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un warned the U.S. in his New Year's speech!
He said North Korea will need to take a different path if the U.S. “continues to break its promises and misjudges our patience by unilaterally demanding certain things and pushes ahead with sanctions and pressure.
