Heads of countries are calling wanting to know why Senator Schumer is not approving their otherwise approved Ambassadors!?
Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.),
Quote:
Chris Murphy@ChrisMurphyCT

This is a lie. Because:

a. The problem isn’t a long list of unapproved ambassadors. It’s that Trump left the most important slots vacant for virtually his entire first 2 years (eg Saudi Arabia)

b. Ambassadors need only 50 votes [so no Dem votes needed].
Mitch [GOP Senate leader], not Chuck [Schumer], is the issue.

First of all, happy new year guys, including the Trump haters!

Jair Bolsonaro, "the Brazilian Trump", was sworn in today. The new first lady Michele Bolsonaro broke the protocol and was not only first to make a speech but also did it in deaf language, which she is a teacher:

I am not sure why the media likes to compare the two, perhaps because they both have beautiful young wives? Because Trump looks like a leftist in comparison to Bolsonaro:

Good that you posted the comment about the sign language as my first impression of the picture was that she raised the middle finger.

Yeah, when he wrote "indicted", what he really meant was "indicted", but you thought he meant "indicted".

Another of Trump's many lies?

The wall is quite obviously there, actually there are more than one despite the WaPo's and other's claims that there is none.

This shows yet again why Trump is right when he calls them out as fake news!

The following picture has been taken from this WaPo article and slightly edited for clarity.

Most people believe it was the cost of the Arms race against the US that bankrupted the Soviet Union.

Not only did the GOP not believe "They were right to be there" but it was a GOP President, Reagan, who fought a proxy war in Afghanistan against the Soviet Union.

Well, the CIA need suitable spots for their look-outs, so perhaps it's really just one wall.

Well as the Trump Yuletide Shutdown in the United States continues on past Christmas and into the New Year -
in his Presidential effort to turn his Mexican border wall into reality, with a little arm twisting in Congress.
All to stop those Mean Hombres down Mexico way !!!

Reminds me evermore of King Lear, this is Shakespeare's play about a pathetic senior trapped in a hostile environment. Even Lear's family turned against him, so what next for Spanky?

I doubt the Dems will give him wall money.
Anyway it is not needed as Trump claims Mexico is indeed paying for the Wall so Trump's shutdown was not needed

Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

Mexico is paying for the Wall through the new USMCA Trade Deal.
Much of the Wall has already been fully renovated or built. We have done a lot of work.
$5.6 Billion Dollars that House has approved is very little in comparison to the benefits of National Security.
Quick payback!

That was rather clever of Mr Avenatti. Everybody knows that a year has only 12 months. Nobody has a birthday in the 31st month of any year.

Now, is this down to China internalising their IT development or frosty relations with Trump? I reckon it's a combination, but let's see how Trump responds...

The United States Treasury has taken in MANY billions of dollars from the Tariffs we are charging China and other countries that have not treated us fairly. In the meantime we are doing well in various Trade Negotiations currently going on. At some point this had to be done!

You didn’t know the Atlantic Ocean is quite large. It’s no shock you don’t get how tariffs work. (p.s. the market is falling today. Why? Apple said your tariffs are crushing them not China.)

It is partly down to the Chinese economy being hit by the trade war so people have less to spend and partly down to local pressure on Chinese people not to buy US goods and partly due to fewer Chinese buying smartphones.
