Hot Fuzz was on TV over Xmas and at one stage Jim Broadbent's character uttered the phrase "Make Sanford Great Again" .

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border. Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern.
Does not seem to be a lot of interest by the TV networks to show this Address live; except of course, Fox News!

Meanwhile the Dems.

Quote:
Chuck Schumer@SenSchumer

Now that the television networks have decided to air the President’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime.

The link is to the tweet with the full joint Press Release by Pelosi and Schumer.

After two years in office Trump has not tried to broaden his support beyond his loyalist base so he has a difficult task to win over the voters to Wall support!

Tricky one, it'll just be one of his "guy at the end of the bar" rants, nothing of benefit, but then if they don't show it he'll whine about how he's being censored. I saw a suggestiong of putting him on with a delay and a real time fact check, which could of course be replaced with a marquee sayng 'Lie'

Or bleep every lie. Might be the start of a novel form of art, the flatline sound.

I just hate these videos, where there are more bleeps than words.

Doesn't have to be aired by ALL networks.

If it's not then it would be interesting to see viewing figures for the channels that don't broadcast it, I'd love to see what shows get better ratings than a rerun of Spanky lying has huge ass off.

"All the Presidents Men" would be hilarious

Same. Either don't show the clip or leave it as is, especially if it's a piece of art (not that that would apply to Trump's speeches). Moreover the bleepers are utterly useless, even children will quickly learn what was overridden.

Maybe CNN could run the Jim Carrey masterpiece, "Liar Liar" and see if that can beat him.

CNN, Fox News and MSNBC will all carry the address live, as well.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Comedy of errors continues;

Quote:
Attorneys for Manafort inadvertently disclosed allegations in a court filing on Tuesday.
Sections of their filing were meant to be redacted, but the text underneath several blacked-out lines could be copied and viewed.
Source

These failed redactions alleged Manafort had a meeting with Konstantin Kilimnik (a Russian political consultant who worked for Manafort on campaigns in eastern Europe) in Madrid, gave him campaign polling data, and discussed a Ukrainian peace plan with him - then lied about all of it.
Very normal contacts between a US presidential campaign manager & an alleged Russian intelligence asset.

Meanwhile the Russian lady that Don Trump Jr. met with in Trump Tower in 2016 was charged by federal prosecutors in New York with obstruction of justice in connection with an entirely separate money-laundering case that highlighted her ties to senior people in the Russian government.

He was also fundraising off it, prior to the clownshow, his campaign send an email soliciting donations to the official 'Secure the border fund" the fine print said the donation was actually to Spanky's relection campaign.

Just wow, you really can fool some of the people all of the time.

Edit:* Just heard a political commentator describe the event, "These are less supporters and more marks" - classic.
