It's not that funny. For security reasons, it was not publicized that Pelosi was going to travel to a war zone to visit the troops. Huckabee-Sanders releasing the letter made that information public, which was a bit inappropriate. I agree she needs to stay in Washington right now, but this wasn't the way to go about it.

Pelosi threatening to cancel the State of the Union speech is dumb too, but hardly a security issue.

Trump administration releasing such secure information potentially risking Pelosi's life is another example of the amateur status of the White House today.

I think it's difficult once someone has nailed their colours to the mast and defended it deeper and deeper into more and more ridiculous territory to then admit to themselves and others that, perhaps, they were wrong. Especially if everyone else around them is still on the same bandwagon.

I guess the only time it will make an appearance is on the next ballot paper which is nice and anonymous and nobody needs to admit openly they've seen the light.

Basically Trump is offering a temporary change in immigration laws for some classes of immigrants against a permanent change for the Wall; this is a hard sell for a good salesman but very difficult for Trump who is more into bullying than persuasion.
