No, Amnesty is not a part of my offer. It is a 3 year extension of DACA. Amnesty will be used only on a much bigger deal, whether on immigration or something else.
Likewise there will be no big push to remove the 11,000,000 plus people who are here illegally-but be careful Nancy!
As mentioned, the supposedly great negotiator is not good at persuasion but uses bullying and threats.
I see no quick or easy end to this shutdown that that is so damaging for 800,000 Govt. employees and is now starting to hit the economy. Even giant companies like Rand Corp, Boeing and Booz Allen are no longer receiving Govt. payments and so are looking at cost reductions.

Edit; Trump's proposal is now under attack from Dems because it does not offer permanent Amnesty and by GOP because it offers too much Amnesty. Consequently whichever way Trump moves the needle he will get more opposition from one side or the other.
He has allowed the Fox News commentators to paint him into a corner where there is no face saving way out!
This is the result of following political advice from the media.

Trump will really have to pull a clever solution out of his hat to fix this mess.

BTW, part of Trump's proposal was to recruit over 2,000 extra Border Patrol agents. Totally unrealistic idea because the BP is already over 2,000 agents under their approved headcount and additionally lose more agents every year than they recruit. They mostly work in unattractive and remote parts of the country for low wages ($35K annually).
Trump does not help recruitment by continually tweeting that dangerous people are crossing the border!

How many Border Patrol Agents have left the service this year due to having to work unpaid is not known.

The Media is not giving us credit for the tremendous progress we have made with North Korea. Think of where we were at the end of the Obama Administration compared to now. Great meeting this week with top Reps. Looking forward to meeting with Chairman Kim at end of February!
What an unbelievable bag of wind this guy is.

From the Pentagon's 2019 MISSILE DEFENSE REVIEW released this week "While a possible new avenue to peace now exists with North Korea, it continues to pose an extraordinary threat and the United States must remain vigilant"

Source

Compare this with after Trump's return from meeting with Kim in Singapore, the president tweeted that “everybody can now feel much safer” and that "There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea."

Why Trump was the first US President to so belittle himself as to meet with people junior to the N. Korean President just goes to show how desperate he is to invent a "win".

I'd like to announce that I too will be running for the Democratic nomination for the 2020 presidential election. I'd also like to mention at this point, that I'm Spartacus.

Thank you.

FBI top lawyer confirms “unusual steps.” They relied on the Clinton Campaign’s Fake & Unverified “Dossier,” which is illegal. “That has corrupted them. That has enabled them to gather evidence by UNCONSTITUTIONAL MEANS, and that’s what they did to the President.” Judge Napolitano
According to the Fox News article quoted; "the unusual step" by the FBI top lawyer was "I wanted to make sure that we were filing something [the FISA warrant to monitor Carter Page, former foreign-policy adviser to Donald Trump) that would adhere to the law and stand up over time."

That sounds more like protecting Trump than attacking him?

Marist/NPR/PBS Poll shows President Trump’s approval rating among Latinos going to 50%, an increase in one year of 19%. Thank you, working hard!

2:25 PM - 22 Jan 2019
Same poll shows President Trump’s approval rating overall @ 39% and 11% among African Americans. 57% say they will definitely vote against Trump in 2020.

Must be correct, Trump supports the poll!

Trump's kidding, right? Right??? He is quoting Judge Napolitano, the FOX News in-house commentator who was a State Superior Court judge 24 years ago, was dumped as a lecturer in law, was even suspended by FOX itself for fabricating conspiracy theories, and apparently told his friends in March 2017 that Trump told him he was considering Napolitano for SCOTUS, should the opportunity come up. A veritable expert on Federal Constitutional matters.

I'd love to see Trump's list of citations if he could ever work up the smarts to write a fully referenced academic essay.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

The Supreme Court on Tuesday once again did not act on the Trump administration's effort to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, leaving protections for nearly 700,000 undocumented immigrants who came to the US as children in place for at least the next several months.

"Even if the court agrees to take up these cases, the earliest it would hear them now is this fall, with no decision until early 2020," VladeckCNN Supreme Court analyst and professor of law added.
"That kicks the debate over DACA back to the political branches."

Source

The Supreme Court also said on Tuesday that a mystery foreign government-owned company fighting a subpoena related to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation could file court papers asking the justices to take up its appeal under seal.

The justices also said the unnamed company must release redacted copies for the public record, an action that means the public may soon find out more about the company and its appeal.

The reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the “podium” much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press.
I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway!
Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!
And on a historical note, last Sunday was a new Trump record - 40 tweets.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Former White House chief of staff John Kelly and former Homeland Security Secretary along with four other former Homeland Security Secretaries are calling on President Trump and Congress to end the ongoing partial government shutdown and “fund the critical mission of DHS.”

The letter says that Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employees have been leaving the department because they cannot continue to work unpaid due to the shutdown.

Source

DHS is very important for US security against terrorism, managing illegal immigrants and Border Patrol so it is nutty to see this organisation running down. This has the opposite effect on US security than the claimed result of the Wall. It will not be easy to replace these employees at a time of full employment and especially when there is always the risk of more shutdowns.

Meanwhile Trump tweeted he will not give the State of Union speech in the House until after the shutdown and will not seek another venue.
