Been an interesting day.
We even have Donald Trump Jr. retweeting a tweet that says Cohen is telling the truth. I assume Don Jr. either did not read to the end of the tweet or failed to understand it? | Quote: | | | | Donald Trump Jr. Retweeted

Incredible to see all the hubris drained from Cohen. I've been personally screamed at by Cohen on the phone before and know how much bravado he once had.
This is a man with nothing left, with no reason to lie or obfuscate at all.
Humbling, in its way. | | | | | | The following 3 users would like to thank marton for this useful post: | |

And why is there only one signatory on the second (actually the first, chronologically) cheque?
I love to see Trump squirm, but I'm just wondering about these little points.

I have even came across with the term "victim-chic" in one of them. Pretty sad episode but it proves nothing or it refutes nothing, in general. Racism and hate crimes do happen.

Cohen said a long time ago he was reimbursed for Stormy with monthly payments of $35K, I think there were 10 or 12 such payments - kept to a low amount to avoid questions, I assume. So different dates are explained
I am sure Trump is a sole signatory for his own bank account; he is not the sort of person to want to seek a second signature for anything he wants to pay.
He also strikes me a as person who has little trust of others so all other checks require two signatures?

Couple of takeaways from this | Quote: | | | | Trump defended Kim over the death of US student Otto Warmbier,
“He says he didn’t know about it and I will take him at his word,” | | | | | Strange how Trump always believes murderous dictators! | Quote: | | | | Trump confirmed that the US side had confronted the North Koreans with the existence of covert nuclear facilities outside Yongbyon and demanded they be put on the negotiating table.
“They were surprised we knew,” he said. | | | | | Is Trump finally listening to his intelligence services instead of Fox News?

Spanky's cheque was drawn on his personal account.
Jr's cheque was drawn on a Trump Org account and countersigned by Allen Weisselberg, Trump Org CFO

I am quite worried there are no serious diplomats in Washington at the moment, what with the India/Pakistan flare up, China, Russia and NK all threatening global instability. I miss having a rational leadership in the worlds largest super power. |

Another disappointment for Spanky.
Five months ago he tweeted | Quote: | | | | Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump
“President Trump would need a magic wand to get to 4% GDP,” stated President Obama. I guess I have a magic wand, 4.2%, and we will do MUCH better than this!
We have just begun.
4:42 PM - 10 Sep 2018 | | | | | US Govt report of GDP for last quarter 2.6% issued today! Source
This is down from 3.4% in the previous quarter so the trend now is definitely down!

According to reliable sources Melania has quite a few cashmere garments.

The circus of yesterdays hearing, the pettiness, name calling and the placards, (oh god the pacards, an elected official actually thought 'Liar, liar pants on fire' was something that belonged in a serious hearing) give me no hope for the stable future of the US political system.
In other news no progress on NK denuclearisation, wow, I don't think anyone saw that coming, sigh.

When I wrote that I was not impressed by Cohen's statement, I meant that he said nothing new (afaIk) and excused all his doings by having been totally entranced by Trump.
But the reactions makes the country look like a kindergarten-class who's teacher has stepped out the room.
Who actually runs the US at the moment? Is the evidence Cohen handed in actually being examined?
On this path now, next thing will be riots and then what? Civil war? Are the Republicans really that desperate that they have to hang on to Trump, no matter what?
