I suspect he chose that one for vice president so he could remember the name.
In the private industry he doesn't have the necessary influence.

When he tells such dumb untruths about trivial matters then we have no chance of ever knowing what he really agreed with Putin, Kim, Erdogan and any other dictator.
Only silver lining is they will never be able to hold him to any agreement that changes from minute to minute!

I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard.
American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind. There is no reason that we should be lagging behind on.........

2:55 PM - 21 Feb 2019
And today
Quote:

Airplanes are becoming far too complex to fly. Pilots are no longer needed, but rather computer scientists from MIT. I see it all the time in many products.
Always seeking to go one unnecessary step further, when often old and simpler is far better.
Split second decisions are needed, and the complexity creates danger. All of this for great cost yet very little gain. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want Albert Einstein to be my pilot. I want great flying professionals that are allowed to easily and quickly take control of a plane!

3:12 PM - 12 Mar 2019....
Must be weird to work for Trump!
Hey boss, I did what you told me yesterday.
You idiot, we have a different approach today!

Aside from the fact he clearly knows nothing about being a pilot!

Isn't that the basis of fanaticism? There's a bit of that over on the Brexit thread, too.

Once you buy into an idea and paint yourself into a corner defending every bit of bullshit from your party, you're on the one-way street to ditching self-respect and becoming a yes-man unable or unwilling to question anything.

Yup, it takes character to change your mind and acknowledge you backed the wrong horse, his supporters are emotionally invested in him now, no way can they change; they'll see it as weakness.

In other news airlines and aviation authorities across the world are grounding Boeing Max 8 planes until the two crashes are explained. In the US Spanky is taking the word of the CEO of Boeing who told him they were fine.

Have you looked back over your own posting history? You hit levels of "incognizance" and "self-righteous smugness" the rest of us could only dream about.

Good opportunity for Trump to be Presidential and manage the Boeing situation; which he will probably collapse into blaming the Dems!
Another EF colleague already posted that Trump will say the planes were built during Obama's time

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced former Trump campaign chairman Manafort to 43 months in prison, bringing his total Federal sentence to 7 1/2 years.

The Manhattan District Attorney today indicted Paul Manafort in connection to a mortgage fraud scheme, announcing the State charges within minutes of his sentencing in federal court in Washington. D.C. District Attorney Cyrus Vance announced 16 charges against Manafort.

I assume this is an insurance against Trump pardoning Manafort for Federal offences, then they jail him on State offences.

BTW, US has now also stopped flying the 737 Max.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

It's all happening, on both sides of the pond! First, rebel Tories helping to defeat the government over Brexit, and now:

Trump faces Senate revolt in vote on border emergency.

It looks like the Republican-dominated Senate may reverse Trump's emergency order to secure funding for his wall (although Trump could, and probably would, veto such a move).

The world has gone crazy!

In a defeat of the GOP by 59 to 41 votes, the US Senate delivered a sharp rebuke to Donald Trump on Thursday, voting to overturn his declaration of a national emergency in order to divert taxpayer funds to the US-Mexico border.

I look forward to VETOING the just passed Democrat inspired Resolution which would OPEN BORDERS while increasing Crime, Drugs, and Trafficking in our Country.
I thank all of the Strong Republicans who voted to support Border Security and our desperately needed WALL!
Meanwhile Trump hinting at violence again?

"I can tell you I have the support of the police, the support of the military, the support of the Bikers for Trump – I have the tough people, but they don’t play it tough — until they go to a certain point, and then it would be very bad, very bad," Trump said.
