Buzzfeed could just have been trolled out of business:
You may find you jumped on this bandwagon too soon!

There are some holes in the 4 Chan story, especially the time line

In the UK there is the "Independent Press Standards Organisation" which handles such stuff.
I have no idea if there is an US equivalent?

Web site here
the 5 points under accuracy arent going to cut it if you want to get serious about censoring. too much wiggle room.

some (many) things are simply controversial. contradicting facts, dubious methods for finding facts. what was once considered fact may not be today. nobody is 100% objective all the time. etc.

philosophically it would boil down to "i think therefore i am"
scientifically everything is always "theory", never fact. no absolute truth.

I love it when people try to use this line. Gravity is just a (scientific) theory too.

What the hell is this press conference?

Drugs, Fighter Jets, bands, great bands. This is surreal.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Well, Trump is staying on point about the economy, and seems to have batted the fake news. Looks like another Swamp Media fail.

Its good to have these things coming out, in a sense. I flushes out the denizens of the swamp. No need for a ministry when you know who they are.

Whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Trump seems to get stronger with every one of these.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

LOL.

The hacking occurred because Hillary set up an independent server, all on Obama's watch.

He turned it back to the content of Hillary and Podesta's emails. Hilarious.

I don't think any kind of organisation will help this. This story was admitted to be a 4Chan hoax, yet the media still picked it up. Its simply noise on the information superhighway coming from the swamp.
Do you have a source for who admitted this to be a 4Chan hoax?

The problem is many people do not understand the correct meaning when scientists use the term theory and they struggle with Homonyms .

I think the wandering sentences have reached a whole new level with the current press conference - I can't wait until he does a state of the union address!

He just Godwined himself!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

i know perfectly well the difference between theory and theory. the point is, nothing is absolutely true. only until falsification.

yes, even gravity. although that will never happen of course within the current paradigms.

or the classic example of geocentrism. what you think is fact today may be laughable tomorrow.

if we start censoring, you run the risk of censoring the next copernicus. but such an obvious thing may float to the surface eventually anyway. controversial subjects that dont involve math on the other hand...

Trump said "As far as hacking, I think it was Russia, but I think we also get hacked by other countries, other people.” which is a positive move that he has reversed his position. How long before he reverses his position on the "embarrassing" Russian papers as well?

Military bands will play at his inauguration; I suppose if soldiers refuse to play like members of the Rockettes did then they can be court martialed?

Why are people harping on low quality media...I asked the same, about the quality of presidential candidates and the whole pre-election discourse.

Media deliver exactly what they what they know that people want to hear. Candidates deliver exactly what people want them to deliver.

Customer's first. Entitlement.

It is not anything else. If somebody dislikes the low quality media, blame the readers/consumers since they are the ones who decide what they will be fed. Same with politics. It will only improve when consumers/readers/voters set a higher bar. Stop buying or responding. And - obviously - nobody wants to assume any self criticism nor different opinion these days. It is not convenient. Thinking hurts. It is easier to nag about poor quality media and crappy election outcome instead and get all mega-churchey-hysterical-selfrighteous. Dear lord.

The min people voted for a token symbol, it was over. Obama was that. Trump figured it out, which wasn't hard. Hillary as a token wasn't catchy enough. Trump delivered what customers wanted.

People's attention span is exactly that: a tweet.

It seems to be a long process for some to take that jump into a new paradigm shift. I suppose some can't and never will make that jump. But I doubt anyone who has made that jump will really bother to wait for others to come to their senses. We just move on whether or not they come to their senses.
