Meanwhile, in a land far, far away:

"Senate votes down Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal 57-0 with high-profile Democrats joining Republicans to show their disapproval of radical plan as she says she didn't want vote to happen and charges GOP climate policy with wrecking havoc on world"

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...uHsJDc-UvCyXJ8
I think this was the right move. The issue needs to be addressed of course, but AOC's proposal was too extreme to give reasonable consideration. Also I think the senior Ds feel like they need to reel her in a bit.

Good. While I agree we need to move away from a petro-economy this new green deal was based in pure fantasy.
AOC is the dems response to Trump. I see your childish idiot and raise you a brain dead idiot with no class.

Its hard for me to listen to Trump speak. Its impossible for me to listen to AOC speak without wanting to break my computer. She needs to graduate from that high school nagging ex-girlfiend tone she always uses. The only thing she will accomplish is getting Trump re-elected.
I agree the deal was fantasy and that AOC can grate my nerves. Still, I can't hate on her too much because I think it's good to see younger people getting involved in politics and bringing fresh ideas. I might not like all those ideas, but people her age are the ones that will control both parties down the line. Trump and Pelosi won't live forever.

The solution to so many of our problems at all times and in all places is to fall in love, get married, and have some kids,' he added. “
Good grief. The solution to climate change is to add more people to the planet?

Exactly. For example, in Vermont, emissions or something increased because they took nuclear energy out of the equation. So I think there’s too much knee jerking on both sides.

Although, I like AOC. She has energy and she’s bright. Pelosi is ok. I’m really tired of Diane Feinstein. She needs to retire.

Pelosi is a drunk who is showing the early signs of dementia. Feinstein should be behind bars for outright corruption. I am all for the younger generation challenging the status quo. But do the younger dems have to resort to divisive identity politics and victimhood mentality? I think the younger conservatives are showing more promise at appealing to those who are not at the extreme wings of politics. Although I do not consider myself a conservative I tend to like some of their newer faces over people like AOC and Ohmar. Ben Shapiro is like the Eminem of debate, fun to watch even though I dont always agree. And now this, Senator Mike Lee giving the ultimate response to the New Green Deal. His solutions for Alaska and Hawaii are BRILLIANT! Hilarious. Troll level 9000.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

New study shows that the number one cause of TDS is not his politics, like asking for the same wall that Obama and the Democrats were asking just two years ago, but HIS HAIR. The new study suggests that if Spanky were to just own up to it and cut that mop his approval ratings may or may not remain unchanged.

I dunno about TDS but I have to say - he looks pretty good as a bald man with a beard. Maybe he should try it for fun. The media would crap themselves for weeks about his mental health and stuff, and not pay any attention to his legislative agenda, foreign policy, or golfing. Brilliant!

Funds are allocated by Congress so this decision might end up in the courts?
Anyway due to the law of unintended consequences cutting funds to these countries will likely increase pressure on the population so increasing the number of migrants?

Meanwhile Trump keeps saying he wants to have the Special Counsel Mueller report released with no "executive privilege" redaction's; either a big boost for democracy or due to his belief that his base will ignore any negatives?

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Interesting legal point came up today about Trumps Wall!
The US will have to build the wall on US territory, not Mexican.

Due to technical requirements and physical restrictions when building the wall it will need to be at least a metre or two within the US side of the US/Mexico boundary.

So migrants seeking asylum just have to stand on the narrow strip of US territory on the Mexico side of the wall to be technically in the US and legally able to claim asylum!!

Well, the Dotard and his supporters even thought they could force Mexico to pay for it.

"Saturday Night Live" returned with Robert De Niro's special counsel Robert Mueller reading his report, the summary of it and President Trump's tweets about it.

Quote:
"I am submitting these 380 pages," De Niro's Mueller began.
"I am writing almost four pages," Bryant's Barr continued.
"I am reading zero pages," Baldwin's Trump said.

Is the Mueller report really basically saying "we found no proof but we're still suspicious"?
Now ist this just lame or an official "Presumed innocent for want of evidence"?
In both cases, legally the story is done with.

We do not know what the Mueller report says since it is not yet published.

We do know the highly experienced Mueller wrote "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him."

The Attorney General Barr, a political appointee by Trump, was able to read Mueller's 300+ page report in 48 hours and magically concluded that a crime by Trump could not be proven in a court of law.

So no, the story is not done with until Mueller's report is published and we can see what evidence he had. Then Congress might decide to take further action against Trump or to investigate further.

It is exceedingly strange that Mueller did make any conclusion and so left the door open for politicians to do so; the idea of a special counsel is to avoid politicians making possibly biased conclusions.

One of the good things about Obamacare is, like in Switzerland, they have to take everybody.

These association health plans are potentially cheaper because they were allowed to discriminate against people with pre-conditions.
