| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | Pretend to be a supporter of such a man and see if you get shunned? Pretend to be suckered by the most obvious lies and see if you get mocked? really? | | | | | So you're saying it's fake news that people who do that do get mocked.
But you won't do it yourself, not even as an experiment, because you don't want to get mocked.

I was never a politician so by your logic if I criticise a politician then I am a hypocrite? | | | | | Try again.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | | I also found reids' post shocking. Just describing half the American voters as a lower kind of people.
As an experiment, just try to out yourself as a Trump supporter among your friends or at work, learn how tolerant people are and post your experience on the forum. | | | | | Oh yeah, right. You're here for so many years and are still shocked by such remarks (don't know if reids implied that but I'll pretend he did)...On English Forum, for goodness sake!
I wouldn't say all of those voters are a lower kind of people, but they're definitely a very strange crowd. I give some of them the benefit of the doubt - they didn't know exactly who or what were they voting for. Maybe for many it was just an anti-Clinton vote and they're deeply embarrassed by the situation now. After all of Trump's comments and tweets and so on - there's little you can say to defend him. Why would anyone like to put themselves in such a spot? As much as I respect people who own their actions....there's no point in doing that.

As Loz said, Trump is not perfect. In fact he's a monstrous twat with narcissim issues that will not be forgotten for generations to come. But so were many presidents before him. If you just think of all the elbowing and backstabbing you need to do to even get into a position where you can be considered suitable for the job, this should be clear. Let's just get real and stop the fearmongering. | | | | | Looking at history and drawing parallels is not fearmongering, a Muslim ban because they might be terrorists, Mexicans are drug dealers and rapists, a migrant caravan is set to swarm over the border, thats fearmongering.

No because of what he said! | Quote: | | | | Donald Trump’s false comments connecting Mexican immigrants and crime

Then he doubled down Source | | | | | so when a guy who is know for talking a lot of cr*p talks a bit of cr*p, that is precisely the same as banning all Mexicans and banning all Muslims?
You know, if back in the day people who didn't like Obama had brought this sort of stuff up against him, they would (rightly) have been called batshit crazy.

Please explain your logical steps on how you link this Trump abusive rhetoric to your coming up with the idea that Trump will ban all Mexicans; the rest of us are discussing the Muslim ban |

Goodness, this anti-immigration rhetoric here and there, everywhere, is so hypocritical. They need (cheap) workforce like they need air and they still piss and shit on entire nations of people. Disgusting.
It's not about banning people by country of origin, is the signal you send to the public.

You could have mentioned that he rented from a funeral firm.
Or that he drives cars abroad that he would love to ban at home.

| | Re: Will Trump be a Good President? | Quote: | | | | The U.S economy added 75,000 jobs in May, the Labor Department reported Friday, falling short of expectations by nearly 100,000 jobs..
The Labor Department also revised down March’s gain from 189,000 to 153,000 jobs, and April’s gain from 263,000 to 224,000 jobs.
The revision shaved 75,000 jobs off the books for 2019. | | | | | Source
It maybe that the growth in employment is peaking? After all it cannot continue for ever, it is not like Frankenstein is creating new workers in a cellar somewhere.
There is also the problem that the U.S. population is aging quickly. Baby boomers are retiring en masse and Americans are having far fewer children, on average, than any other time in history. Source |

Trump has cancelled his plan to place tariffs on Mexican goods while they have agreed to take actions to limit migrants but | Quote: | | | | President Trump's deal with Mexico to drop plans to impose sweeping tariffs is reportedly largely made up of actions that Mexico had already agreed to take over the past several months, The New York Times reported Saturday.
According to the Times, officials from both countries said Mexico's agreement to deploy its national guard throughout Mexico, "giving priority to its southern border," had already been promised in March during secret discussions with then-Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, in Miami.
Officials told the Times that the central part of Friday's deal, which expanded the program permitting asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while their claims are processed, was also agreed upon before Friday's announcement. The Times noted that the Migrant Protection Protocols were announced in December by Nielsen during a House Judiciary Committee hearing. | | | | | Source

Apparently flying in the opposite direction was 'closer and more convenient' than staying in London or even Paris, Paris being both geographically closer and in the right direction. Total cost to the US taxpayer of presidential golf now stands at 106m.
