And the battle at Fort McHenry was some 70 years before the revolution!
Some 31 years after the American Revolutionary War ended, actually—the Battle of Fort McHenry took place during the War of 1812 in, erm, 1814. Nevertheless, Trump was still wrong.

Poor old guy is having memory problems.

Last year was the first in 51 years where prescription drug prices actually went down, but things have been, and are being, put in place that will drive them down substantially. If Dems would work with us in a bipartisan fashion, we would get big results very fast.

And earlier this year

Drug makers and companies are not living up to their commitments on pricing. Not being fair to the consumer, or to our Country!

9:49 PM - 5 Jan 2019
It is, of course, untrue that prescription drug prices actually went down.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Seems Trump's friend is turning his back on Boeing and the US?
Flyadeal, the low-cost Saudi Arabian airline, has cancelled an order for 30 Boeing 737 Max aircraft.

The deal, which included an additional option to purchase 20 more 737 Max aircraft, was worth $5.9bn at list prices.

Instead Flyadeal, which is controlled by state-owned Saudi Arabian Airlines, will operate a fleet of Airbus A320 planes.

Trump should stand up for Khashoggi who worked for a US newspaper and was assassinated in the Saudi Consulate.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Fox hiring Brazile is a good move. The network can pretend she's their "balanced" part of fair and balanced, all the while not not really recognizing her as legit or taking her seriously because of her past with the Dems.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Spanky today retweeted a tweet that falsely claimed Reagan forecast Trump would be President one day.
With commendable speed Twitter suspended the account with that false tweet.

Nonetheless it is increasingly hard to believe Spanky is the US president; he has enormous resources available to check such stuff before he uses; of course he relies on his gut feel instead

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Following the Supreme Court denying adding the citizenship question to the census the DOJ announced that it was pulling its entire legal team for the citizenship question off the case, and replacing them with other government lawyers.

Not surprising, the "old" team persuaded the Supreme Court to hear the case on an accelerated schedule because June 30th was a "do or die" decision date. Trump promptly destroyed their credibility by tweeting in July he was continuing to try to add the citizenship question to the census.

No announcement yet who is in the new legal team; no doubt people are running around the DOJ buildings with ropes and sacks looking for "volunteers"!!

About "he is not liked"; strange how important "being liked" is for Trump, of course, Putin and Kim and other world leaders play on this weakness.

It's the other way around: if you plan to leave the EU and need a deal with the US, you better make sure that you are liked if you are the ambassador.

Nah, the real grown ups don't worry about "liking" and "being liked". Respect, reliability and credibility are the ingredients you need in politics.

I know but if you as an ambassador have to deal with Trump and need something, you need to play the game.

Yep, you're right. I'd momentarily forgotten we were in 2019 where the world is being held to ransom by a giant hysterical toddler.

That's a very nice idea that everybody agrees on. And then you have those, who actually manage to get voted.

Hmmm... the reality of it, though, is if you are going to have a massive temper tantrum because your arse is stinging because of what someone said about you, you tend to not let fly in public about how butthurt you are.

Trump's not figured this out yet.

Do you actually need to if you are at the very top of the hierarchy?

But no matter where you are if you ignore the rules then you run into brick walls. Latest example
Quote:
A federal judge on Monday blocked a Trump administration regulation that aimed to reduce prescription drug prices.

The administration does not have the authority to require drugmakers include their prices in television ads, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta ruled in Washington, D.C.

"No matter how vexing the problem of spiraling drug costs may be, HHS cannot do more than what Congress has authorized," Mehta wrote. "The responsibility rests with Congress to act in the first instance.”
Maybe one day the great religious figure Trump will have his "road to Damascus" moment and recognise he can only achieve his aims by following the rules like everybody else and not by behaving like a demanding toddler.
