Trump's racist comments about the squad have cost him at least one long term friend, Fox News’ Geraldo Rivera. He said " “as much as I have denied it and averted my eyes from it, this latest incident made it impossible” to defend Trump for accusations of racism."

It would not be the first time he has falsely claimed about "Agents badly injured". From November 2018 "CBP commissioner Kevin McAleenan denied that any border agents were injured "

I was thinking more of EF denizens on this thread.

And yes, I hope your latter statement is true, and I hope Trump’s base shrinks. He is such a master of distraction though....

I just don’t know that enough voters/potential voters see, process and care about things such as his interaction with the yazidi survivor. And with so much nit picking and crap going on with the Dems....they really need cohesion.

Agreed, that was horrible. Equally horrible was the implied "hmmm, so you got the Nobel Peace Prize for that (sounds easy enough)... Obama got one, so I want one too... what can I do to get one?"

I think the Ds are going to come out of this hearing looking like fools. Mueller didn't want to testify, and in his one press conference he said the report IS his testimony. It's unlikely he'll deviate from the report, and I seriously doubt he will answer "yes" if asked whether Trump committed high crimes and misdemeanors.

The Rs will use this as an opportunity to again cast Trump as an innocent victim of a witch hut. I wonder if they'll attack Mueller's personal character right away or wait to see what he says.

An interesting question would be "if the object of the investigation was not the President then would you have considered indictment?"

I doubt he will say "no", most likely will refuse to answer?

Yeah, there are a lot of things that are clear to someone paying attention but the general public may not understand. Getting Mueller to say it on video and under oath could go a long way to push reluctant Democratic house reps to support impeachment. We'll see.

PredictIt's political betting site has a 19% chance Trump is impeached in 2019. IMO, that's too high. But it will be interesting to watch how the market responds after this hearing.

There's even betting on different words Mueller might use.
58% on "Impeach"
85% on "Clinton"
21% on "Deutsche"
