If we could be a bit kinder to FrankZappa in the context of this part of the conversation, that would be much appreciated. What is hilarious to some is not even remotely funny to others. Thanks.
We forgive all Americans who do not understand Queen's English slang, I blame Trump for not ensuring the US education system teaches the proper and only Queen's English.

I doubt had he got the pun, that even he could have not laughed at a death by asphixiwank joke.

Absolutely no disrespect intended to FZ, his initial comment was simply misappropriated by me for a bad pun*, then I tried to explain that Stirb was responding to that and not being negative towards FZ at all. Apologies if such was the interpretation, he seems to be a decent chap.

*false modesty, it was brilliant!

Male. Just tried to find the poor bloke's name, but it's lost in the mists of time.
It was Stephen Milligan and he was a Tory. And you left the bit out about an orange in his mouth. I also seem to recall amyl nitrate was involved as well.

@FoxNews
is at it again. So different from what they used to be during the 2016 Primaries, & before - Proud Warriors!
Now new Fox Polls, which have always been terrible to me (they had me losing BIG to Crooked Hillary), have me down to Sleepy Joe
He seems to be confused again? Saying Fox News were great during the 2016 Primaries and at the same time saying their polls were terrible to him then!

Give A$AP Rocky his FREEDOM. We do so much for Sweden but it doesn’t seem to work the other way around. Sweden should focus on its real crime problem! #FreeRocky
US does nothing for Sweden?? Sweden are not in NATO.

BTW, be careful out there; many in Trump's base confuse Sweden with Switzerland - some very amusing tweets around.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Seems Trump's lawyers and the Treasury Dept may have lied!!
Quote:
Thomas Barthold -- the chief of staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation in Nixon's time-- wrote that he had reviewed materials from the committee's files on Nixon.
"Based on this review, I can state that the Joint Committee staff sought and received, under its legal authority, confidential information [Nixon's tax returns] directly from the Internal Revenue Service," Barthold wrote.

This undercuts the argument from Republican members, the Treasury Department and Trump's lawyers that the current request for the President's tax returns is unprecedented.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Topsy turvy world today

Russian report on Mueller's day in congress;
Quote:
The anchor of Russia’s leading TV channel, Rossiya-24, stated: “Robert Mueller testified that his report did not exonerate President Donald Trump of possible crimes and acknowledged the possibility that Trump might be prosecuted in the future.
Additionally, Mueller reaffirmed the charges against Russia for its election interference.
US Fox News version
Quote:
Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump

“Yesterday changed everything, it really did clear the President. He wins.”
@ainsleyearhardt
“It changed everything in favor of the President, who said all along this investigation is rooted in nothing. Mueller was exposed as being best friends with Comey. Today, you say impeachment, you have a Party of one. It’s over.”
@kilmeade
“Nancy said, Jerry, please sit down. Very bad idea. We discovered that after putting so much time & energy into the Mueller Report, it turns out Mueller didn’t know what was in his Report.”
@SteveDoocy@foxandfriends.

There are people in the audience trained to work together to generate these at appropriate times.

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Quote:
The Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the Trump administration can start using military funds to construct a wall on the southern border, handing the president a major legal victory.

The ruling allows the administration to use $2.5 billion in military funds to begin construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border while litigation plays out.
Sting in the tail is that under US Congress budget rules the money has to be actually spent before the end of the fiscal year which is Sept. 30th 2019.
So it will be a scramble to organise contracts and payment schedules; if they pay in advance then they risk that the contractors will say thank you and then find reasons to not do the work. Going bankrupt is always popular; of course after they have already hidden the money away!!

Re: Will Trump be a Good President?

Lot of rumours around that Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats to Leave Office on August 15 or earlier! Another who would not lie for Trump!

Meanwhile the status of Trump's only major deal after two and half years in office, the NAFTA replacement USMCA, is not clear! The White House has to send a Bill request to Congress who have 90 days to approve it, or not. There is not yet a date announced for this request.

Edit: Rumour confirmed!

I am pleased to announce that highly respected Congressman John Ratcliffe of Texas will be nominated by me to be the Director of National Intelligence. A former U.S. Attorney, John will lead and inspire greatness for the Country he loves.
Dan Coats, the current Director, will be leaving office on August 15th. I would like to thank Dan for his great service to our Country. The Acting Director will be named shortly
Ratcliffe is a bit too rabid for me!!
He has little experience of the Intelligence community so might have issues getting his nomination through the Senate.

With 53 Republican Senators vs 45 Dems, I don't think Trump has too many worries.

This is payback time for Ratcliffe for his partisan performance during Mueller's testimony. Trump can rely on him not to rock the Putin-Trump Love Boat, as Coats did repeatedly.

In Coats resignation letter he mentions his establishment of election security executive “to support the whole-of-government effort to address threats against our elections.”

I hope the Dems push Ratcliff on this point during his nomination hearings. Although the GOP seem happy to have Russia support Trump

This twitter account that Trump is retweeting is not the genuine Thomas Homan ICE account but a fake/parody/satire account.

If you visit this account you will read "A parody account, obviously. #satire"

Pity he did not retweet a different one from this account
"Rep. Cummings is an advocate for justice, freedom, and the rule of law.

He’s done more for the working people of Baltimore—and this entire country—than Trump could ever do."

Trump did it twice—the very stable genius quoted the same parody account in his next tweet.

“The Democrats hate this President so much, they’re forgetting about their duty to secure our Border.” @ThomasHomanICE @SteveHiltonx Sad but true!
