| | Will Trump be a Good President?
Now that he's won, how do you think his presidency will be?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that he's going to be a great President.

Regression to the mean. Probably not as bad as I fear, but nowhere near as good as others think.

Other than that, yeah, a truly caring human being.
I've no doubt he'll be excellent in Foreign Policy (given that he thinks Paris is in Germany), that he'll create jobs for all those currently unemployed in the USA, and that he will vastly increase the wealth of the lower and middle classes.
Oh and perhaps help himself and his family/buddies to a large slice of the pie, but that's normal, right?

I believe Reagan was a great president, maybe because he delegated his experts to run the country.
I am wondering who will be prepared to work with Trump and make this government work?

Trump has great potential. I think he's capable of succeeding tremendously. Yet like anybody else, he's capable of failing spectacularly and miserably. Peter principle, he may have arisen to his level of incompetence. We can only hope he does well for everybody's sake.

I don't think he will be a good president. I don't think his ego will allow him to shut up for long enough to actually listen to anyone who isn't agreeing with him. This probably won't help him have great relationships with people he cannot fire, like foreign dignitaries, or other elected officials.

US markets close up 1.4%, despite earlier global panic at Trump's victory
• The biggest corporate winners were private prison operators, oil companies and pharmaceutical companies. All of these sectors faced punishing regulations under a Clinton presidency, and will benefit from Trump’s mission to loosen controls of businesses. https://www.theguardian.com/business...r-tense-climax | This user groans at Aleydis for this post: | |

On one note though. The fact that he has won the election is already an accomplishment in itself. He has redrawn the political map. Workers who were purported to be represented by the Democrats, because they harvested their votes, apparently realised the Democrats care little for their well being and more for their hold on power. So Trump has cast new light on their representation.
I think also he is on the verge of breaking down political barriers between minorities and whites, which needs to happen in the US by free association rather than social classes. He can also accomplish the same with representation of the LGBT community, and which could potentially unite the country in ways Democrats never could.
Finally, I think he's broken the hold of the tyranny of Political Correctness already. I think there are intellectual values that can be gained from this.
As for what he will do from here on, I suppose we'll see.

He's degraded jews, blacks, Mexicans, disabled, etc with no thought of the consequences. And he was just elected to the highest office in the USA.
That very fact fills me with dread. That someone with so little concern for his fellow man should now stand to represent the Free World.
He beat up his chef because the food didn't please him. He forced himself on his wife Ivanka (before she sold herself out on a gag order tied to her divorce settlement). He has forced himself on a large number of women, only some of whom have come forward.
He has shafted small businesses and short-changed business partners. He has maneuvered his way out of paying taxes for the last 18 years. He pretends to give to charity, but his foundation is murky at best and last we heard, he played with contributions to make it look like he gave far more.
His Trump University was a huge scam (renting hotel convention centers to give phony talks in real-estate).
His business acumen is debatable - but now he'll be running the economy.
All we can hope for is that the éminences grises who'll really be running the show know what they're doing - DT certainly doesn't, he's winging it - and that their pony does as he's told. Otherwise the expression 'smouldering rock' that I read on Twitter is an unfortunately graphic reminder of what this could all come to.

No, I don't realise all those allegations. It should have been brought up before election for fact checking, no? Did he also eat children?
