"Near team bus" ..... 10 km away.

Funny how some think they're the navel of the world. The trainstation Winterthur is 7.3 km away from me. If a bomb exploded there I would never refer it to me even if it blew my windows out. I would seriously worry about the people at the spot of explosion. But then .... I'm not a celebrity.
And apparently also not very realistic

The bus was on its way to the stadium from the hotel(what is in 10 km distance
to the arena), no word on the distance between the "bombs" and the bus.

Bomb explosion? Looks more like some fire crackers went off to me. Where's Mario Balotelli playing now?!

That must have been some home-made stuff by teenagers.

An actual bomb with military grade explosives would have obliterated the bus (and the people inside).

Just gone to watch 'State Of America' on CNN catch up, but it's blanket coverage of this incident. Talk about overkill! I'm a bit surprised that they deem this more important than NK, Syria and Tillerson in Russia.

At the moment, the police are looking into Islamic extremists, due to a note left at the scene saying the attack was retribution for Syria. And as well looking into a far-left radical group (ANTIFA) who posted online that the attack was because Dortmund fans are racist.

I love our armchair warriors.

Fun fact 1: The team bus is ARMORED(!). Just look at the photos, that's not normal car glass...
Fun fact 2: Terrorists rarely ever have "military grade explosives". But any home made bomb that can damage an armored car enough to injure passengers is not some teenager prank. At all.

From everything I have seen and looking at normal practice in the UK - no it isn't.

As mentioned in the article, right wind extremists look at least equally likely (more likely imo given recent club actions).

Also it does NOT mention ANTIFA. It mentions "an anti-fascist group".

Of course you're not letting your own prejudices get in the way of your spin on the story.

I don't care what it is in the UK. According to all German news this morning it is. We now get into definition discussions but simply put: It is not armored like the vehicles used by diplomats in war zones. It simply has significantly strenghtened but not bullet proof windows. There have been "fan" assaults throwing bottles or stones and this is a measure taken. It was build to protect the team from hooligangs not terrorists.

Re: Borussia Dortmund: Bomb explosion near team bus

But now to something completely different: Obviously were hundreds if not thousands of Monaco fans stuck and have to stay a night longer than they planned. Dortmund fans openend their houses for them and a lot of spontaneous meetups happened via twitter: https://twitter.com/hashtag/bedforawayfans

that's the sort of reaction that really is an answer to terrorism.

Dortmund has extreme right winged hooligans for over 30 years. Nobody in the right winged scene would ever dare to attack the BVB, no matter how the club officially acts or communicates.

The extreme left in Germany has never cared about sport teams at all and rather bombs corporations or leading managers and politicians.

Honestly: I don't see how any political motivated terrorism would be targeted at a football team. That might make sense in other countries but not in Germany. The only ones who seem to hate anything fun from sports to music are the islamists.

Probably the lowest vehicle resistance rating.

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonder...ichtlinie_2006

Good enough for stones, bottles and small projectiles - but not enough to shield against an actual explosives-attack.

Will be interesting to get to know:
- how large these bombs were
- and the ingredients for the bombs.

Though, I have little hope the press will report anything substantial "to not inspire copycats".
