Hassan Minhaj's 2017 Whitehouse Correspondence speech... utterly brilliant.

One of the most poignant and well delivered speeches I have ever seen. Simply amazing... and hilarious!

Really? Then your sense of humour is more developed than I initially gave you credit for.

What do you expect at a white house correspondence dinner during the first chaotic year of a Trump presidency? He also ripped into the mainstream news channels.

I don't like top be picky , but ... I think you'll find that it's "Correspondents' dinner", i.e. it belongs to a number of people who correspond.

The same old tired jokes from take your pick out of any current Late Night US TV. Speaking to an audience all too eager to lap it up without the need to worry about being challenged. Throw in the race card and everybody's happy.

Ricky Gervais showed the world how to do acerbic baiting as host of the Golden Globes, without the need to focus on one subject, and was light years ahead of this guy.

I actually did not like his speech at all - I don't like H.M,'s style, and find the jokes a bit old and "tired". I did appreciate when he told the press to do their job, but as political satire goes, I still prefer Trevor Noah.

Nonetheless, thanks for posting! It got a lot of noise in the media, and this gave me a chance to stop and listen to some of it.

A comedian in the US bitching about Trump, whatever next? A British comedian bitching about Brexit.

Poking fun at Trump and "mainstream" US media is incredibly easy at the moment. The Putin references were tired and hacked.

This was far more original

Oh noes, a small portion% of his speech was tired and hacked... good job the rest was pretty spot on then!

Also factor in that it was a job no-one wanted to do, and that he had informally been told to lay off of Trump, and I think his speech is even more admirable for the guts it took and how his delivery never faltered. Crowds don't get much tougher than that.

As for you linking to a 2-minute Britains Got Talent video as being 'more original'... just... lol...

I guess it's a dig at Hassan Minhaj because that was pure cringe.
