Marijuana reverses aging?

Daily dose of cannabis extract could reverse brain's decline in old age, study suggests
Regular low doses of THC dramatically boosted memory and learning in older mice, say scientists, who plan a clinical trial in humans later this year.

Lots of good news recently; looks like I can smoke after eating my bacon and all for good medical reasons

Taking lots of exercise also does the same thing. Without the side effects.

People used to think that doing Sudoko puzzles or other such activities would keep the mind active but it turns out that good old regular exercise is much much better.

It was a comment on the OP's text. I used to prefer a joint to having a drink (well, until I discovered ecstasy and raves) but nowadays it seems too strong. I sit by the river here in Basel, looking all friendly and "sharey" until someone shares their spliff and then after a few puffs my head is spinning. I still don't mind it, but I preferred it when the effect was milder.

I did wonder why I was so smart.

Precisely how I feel, with the notable exception of ecstasy and raves. I was offered a few tokes on the way back from Openair St.Gallen last year. The night train through the mountain from Winterthur to Stadelhofen felt like a roller coaster, and I had to sit by the lake for an hour to get my head straight again. The sensation wasn't unpleasant, but it was vastly more intense than what I'd had 10, 20, 30yrs ago, so it won't be happening again.

They have low THC high CBD weed these days and its absolutely legal here in Switzerland you can get in Kiosks, its like getting stoned when you were 16 again, all relaxed but perfectly able to communicate . Its just the smoking part my lungs hate.

It'll be a rollercoaster ride, as you slide into senility, forget you're not meant to smoke cannabis, smoke a joint, become smart, stop smoking, slide into senility ...

Re: Marijuana reverses aging?

Recently went to a Conference by Prof Kurt Hostettmann, who teaches pharmacology at Geneva, Lausanne, and China- and he claims that Cucurma, according to recent trials, seems to be the best way to slow down dementia and Alzheimers (as well as being a great anti-imflammatory) - and without side effects.

Fixed that for you.

And the same article mentions the 'well-established' link between cannabis use and both lowered intelligence and psychotic disorders in younger people.

LOL - capsule form + added to food seems to be the way.
But yes, combining mental and physical exercise, a bit of cannabis and curcuma could be a great combination. Perhaps genes have a rôle too- both my parents lived well into their 90s with no sign of dementia or Alzheimers- so all fingers crossed hey

Lots of articles available, here is just one from UCLA:

http://alzheimer.neurology.ucla.edu/Curcumin.html

Extract:

Curcumin and Alzheimer ’s disease. Our group has tested curcumin in several models and found that it not only reduces oxidative damage and inflammation (as expected), but also reduces amyloid accumulation and synaptic marker loss while promoting both amyloid phagocytosis and clearance. In in vitro studies, we found curcumin worked to prevent synaptic marker and cognitive deficits caused by amyloid peptide infusion and abeta oligomer toxicity. Our work on curcumin and AD is discussed in detail in our publications

Ahem, this..about the psychotic disorders, was already the case, when I started out some 34 years ago....

In regards to this, nowadays and I see that often amongst some the friends of my daughters, not only do they mix and match the stuff they take. Pills to push up and spliffs to come down again....

It is also not enough to have occasionally a spliff or two in the evening to chill out as we/I did....nowadays they have to be stoned before they set foot out of the house to be able to bear the brunt of the day.....sad really.

Re: Marijuana reverses aging?

My Wife and I (and our dog), used Golden Paste last year. We stopped as it was inconvenient to take it 2x/day due to the taste. Not that it tastes horrible, but we never found an easy way to eat/drink it regularly.

Making it ourselves, meant it was a challenge to put it into capsules. Any tips?
