As an immigrant are you worried about far-right groups/parties?

Not just for CH but as a general question.

I'll be moving to a city in East Germany and turns out there are many far-right groups like PEGIDA, AfD associates and various youth groups

Apparently far-right crimes are going up just like crimes related to legal/illegal immigrants and my guess is it's only gonna go up.

I want to know if you or anybody you know was attacked/hurt by any of these groups? Or this is just a very slim chance?

What do you think?

Re: As an immigrant are you worried about far-right groups/parties?

On the one hand, I think you'd be better asking on Englishforum.de, or possibly turkishforum.de, or syrianforum.de

But if there is a risk, I'm sure it's far outweighed by lower prices for used cars etc.

And free parking and table water in restaurants. Don't forget about them either - after all, they're both basic human rights.

Why not contribute as heavily as possible to the society that receives you ?? That way the locals would see you as a positive example of a newcomer and not just someone who takes ??

Re: As an immigrant are you worried about far-right groups/parties?

In my view a lot of what we hear is scare tactics.

When you actually drill down in the local police reports, the "anti immigrant" incidents include such things as a guy distributing leaflets on the street or a racist graffiti appearing on an abandoned building.

I don't know if the statistics on far left crime include comparable incidents but I have a hunch that these are classified differently.

Despite this bias in counting, far left crime still outstrips far right crime by a huge margin.

Absolutely, it far outweights other stuff.

In German restaurants water is free and unlimited.

I don't think this is just about being a "good" immigrant, some people just want everybody out.

Re: As an immigrant are you worried about far-right groups/parties?

As long as it's mostly extreme left people vandalising and rioting in Germany i would not be to concerned about extreme right. But the main German press agencies seem to focus more on putting the right wing in bad daylight.

Newspaper news title: 18 PEOPLE ARRESTED DURING PEGIDA DEMONSTRATION

Small letters in the article: All arrested people are from anti-fa who wanted to disrupt the demonstration.
