Is she having a laugh?

Queen dons EU flag to announce UK government's Brexit plans

Close-up + full outfit:

Guardian image
CBC image

Is this a coincidence? She could have chosen red, white, blue (singly or in combination), pink, orange, green, purple, cream, black, combinations of those, etc. but opted for blue and yellow with yellow-centred star-shaped flowers on her hat.

Re: Is she having a laugh?

She also turned up with her son leaving her unwell husband at home.

Her son could be interpreted to be Scotland and Wales (he is the Prince of one) - and her unwell husband being the EU.

She is a firm believer in BREXIT

The son didn't exactly look a picture of blooming health either....

Only 5 stars in the hat.
Does that predict the end is nigh for the current EU membership?

In a couple of hours she will have eaten her chip butty, written her diary, put her dentures in the glass, and as she tunes the TV to gogglebox, she'll mutter "Well... let's see what they have to say about that!"

Always agreed with all the sentiments in this thread.
However, it (to outsiders) appears to be the only good U.K. diplomacy published currently.

Or did I miss something?

It could be that she's found out about the disadvantages of BREXIT

Re: Is she having a laugh?

I don't expect she will be bothered about the transport of horses.
She likes to gamble on the racing result.

The UK royal family have large amounts of Hanoverian and Bavarian DNA
inside them, if they pack up and back home, half of GB will be rejoicing!

Re: Is she having a laugh?

I wonder what it means for Gove's leak, hotly denied by the palace, that she supported Brexit.

I was also wondering about the brooch and fabric pattern, whether either of those might have any significance. The brooch is apparently the "Cullinan V Heart brooch", which she is said to wear most often, and was inherited from Queen Mary (Cullinan diamond).

Huh -- and I thought I was the only person who always thought that a hat looks incredibly like a flag.

I've just noticed a comment on Twitter that the UK has been a member of the EU across five decades.

Isn't her ill husband the Duke of some Scottish city, though?

So by leaving him home she is supporting Scottish independence.

He was in hospital being treated for an infection, not at home.
