Does god hate Texas more than California

I just don't get it,

Texas is full to the gills with right wing christians who are quick to attribute any natural or other catastrophe or misfortune on god showing his disapproval of gays feminists abortionists etc ...

Do any of you have any ideas why God is hating on Texas the way he is right now instead of that flesh pot of iniquity California?

Do muslims and jews do the same thing? blame catastrophes on gays or feminists or other religions or whatever their pet hate is?

Which 'god' are you referring to?

In any case, it makes no difference since there are none.

Is this british humour or is it just bad taste to make jokes about other peoples misfortune?

I find it interesting that it actually really bothers me that she spells God in lower case.
Maybe because if she asks such a question, she obviously assumes there is such an entity, therefore she should pay him/her the appropriate respect?

In any case, at some point California will fall into the sea, and my daughter will be wishing that she had stayed in Ticino.

Lets also not forget Bergell. What did these respectful mountain folk ever do to upset the holy one. What's at issue here is most likely the result of global warming and only we as a species are to blame. I only pray that the worst is not yet to come.

California might still catch up with Texas: it's the season of wild fires and westerly winds in California.

I'm down the road in Castasegna this weekend, right at the Swiss-Italian border. Had to get here via the Splüenpass. Quite a ride. It's beautiful though. Sad to think of the possible destruction.

I'm agnostic, but if there is a God, people are still responsible for all the crap that happens. Free will. And we'll have to clean up our own mess.

Please do not, for even a microsecond, associate Cath with "British humour". I'm not even sure what she has can be classified as humour.

Exactly. Texas has refused to implement zoning law to force sensible urban development - result: loads of roads, aka flood channels, less and less greenery to suck up rain and loads of car parks. Now the same floods have worse consequences - who'd a thunk it?

This freedom for individuals to act against the common good is Texan culture and it has consequences. Same thing with the water law: he who drills deepest and pumps hardest gets most water. This too will end badly. And so on.
