Worse still, the military is being sent in

Now we just need Germany the EU to join the party on the Iberian peninsula for a training run before turning their eyes to bigger prizes, and the circle will be complete

Re: Catalan independence referendum vote

The 'impartial' BBC seems to be pitching a decidedly pro-Spanish National agenda:

Carles Puigdemont: The man who wants to break up Spain

A more apt title might be:

Carles Puigdemont: The man who wants to break up with Spain

It's more like shoot the messenger kind of thing. The Spanish are completely infantile if they believe that only one man can do such a thing. He's not Ginghis Han hehe.

Suppose they put all "forces" at work and get rid rid of this guy (politically of course)....this will make the Catalons change their mind, right...

Enjoy it - just don-t step in the path of any fast moving tanks.

I remember this pakce well. We visited it before they began the excavations, when it was still a semi-derelict vegetable market. I still have some pics somewhere. Must dig them up some day.

Suspended independence declared by Catalunya. Smart move to go the Slovenian route but I doubt very much that Spain will negotiate

I can second that the situation is not as tense as the media blow it out of the proportion. I, for one and thousand others, can enjoy great holidays in Barcelona. Viva, me gusta Barcelona!
