Re: Hurricane Ophelia

Can't seem to find anything about Hurricane Ophelia on the BBC site, other than a reference - apparently removed - that it's tail-end will batter London (source). Perhaps they're avoiding the issue entirely this time!

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

Now category 2

Moving very slowly and now expected to drop down to a "tropical storm" before reaching Ireland.

Never thought I'd see "tropical" and "Ireland" in the same sentence.

Re: Hurricane Ophelia

Strengthened briefly to Category 3 before dropping back to 2! This has caused some rethinking as it was thought the Atlantic in this area was not warm enough for the hurricane to strengthen.

Ophelia is the farthest east that a major hurricane has ever been in the Atlantic.
