| | Robert Mugabe becomes WHO goodwill ambassador
UK ‘disappointed’ as Robert Mugabe becomes WHO goodwill ambassador
UN body appoints Zimbabwean despot to help tackle non-communicable diseases, despite dire health crisis under his rule.
The move has been condemned by human rights groups and international bodies, which say Zimbabwe’s healthcare system has collapsed under Mugabe’s authoritarian regime.
Most hospitals lack essential medicines and supplies, and nurses and doctors regularly go unpaid. Source | The following 6 users would like to thank marton for this useful post:

Seeing the words "Mugabe" and "goodwill" in the same sentence leaves one at first nearly at a lack for words… other than a sudden flurry along the lines of:
affront, beastly, catastrophic, dire, exasperating, foolish, greedy, hypocritical, incensing, jeering, killing, laughable, megalomaniac, nepotism, offensive, preposterous, quarrelsome, rich, seething, torturous, unbelievable, venomous, weltschmerz, xenophobic, yowl and zimbabwepulleddown.

This an embarrassment! It is no wonder much of the world mocks the UN. What the hell are they thinking?

It would be way worse if Saudi Arabia would be in a UN human rights committee | The following 2 users would like to thank k_and_e for this useful post:

Good! At least that. Now Zimbabwe just needs for common sense to prevail and Robert Mugabe to be boffed from the position of president. That would bring some hope, perhaps.

Mr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has zero credibility now. He should resign tout de suite.
What the hell was he thinking? And why didn’t he ask people on his team what they thought? Displays all the signs of a bad manager.

Mugabe is quite popular in Africa. The UN and it's agencies are the sum of their components.

Perhaps if he were still alive, he could have been a goodwill ambassador too?
