Yeah... at the same time did the same minister together with his colleagues approve some more weapons deliveries to Saudi... so nothing serious.

PS: Mr Gabriel is a member of the SPD which will not be part of the next government. If I were him would I piss off some people as well by saying some things that are true but not "diplomatic" to say... somebody else has to tidy it up then and that person will be from an opposing party. Golden opportunity!

One sank?

I know Iranian news agency IRNA declared such, but they are the only one who said so, other sources including the ships owners state that no ship has sunk.

("funny" also how quick the Iranians were with declaring it sank while they must be able to see it floating from their shoreline if they'd used a binoculair...")

Re: WW3 Again? Heck this is getting boring.

Interesting to see the spin on this. The Amis are claiming that the Iranian navy were seen removing an undetonated mine whereas the Theran times claim that: "Iranian rescue workers have rushed to the assistance of two oil tankers hit by yet unspecified accidents in the Sea of Oman, transferring all of their 44 crew members to its southern shores, IRNA reported."
For me it smacks of the US fighting the Israelis war against Iran for them.
So it´s either the saudies pulling the strings or the Jews, I can´t see another cause. And remember that pompous ass Pompeo is quoted as saying: "God may have sent Trump to save Israel from Iran." Again the american evangelicals seem to be stirring troube in the name of their god, except Bolton, that bugger is simply a hardline warmonger without a soul.

Re: WW3 Again? Heck this is getting boring.

It’s a difficult one to judge for sure. Trump up for election. Saudi-Iran tensions. Israel-Iran tensions. The price of oil. No idea what to make of it at this stage but there’s certainly something fishy about the whole situation.

Let's see: Ships attacked a few miles away from Iran, Using a method the Iranians have been practicing for years to give them an advantage, during indirect negotiations.

Must be the Jews.

Re: WW3 Again? Heck this is getting boring.

Cui bono?

Why would the Iran attack tankers or place mines and risk starting a war? Obviously they want to sell their oil, and that is even less likely to happen if thensions increase or there's an open conflict.

The US allegations of Iranian open aggressions don't make sense.

True, also they were in complaience of the Treaty and everybody except the americans were happy, so what gives and who gains?

Does it count as a war protest working for a US company in Switzerland to help it reduce its taxes in US (and thus the US military budget)?

:-)

Dunno, but working for a large US company does put you on the wrong side of history...
At least these days.

What could they lose? A hell of a lot.

Who hates the Shi'a Iran? Sunni terrorist organizations such as ISIS, Al-Qaeda, Al-Nusra Front, etc.! Not to speak of the Persian-Arab tensions which also exists.

I really do not know why you mention "the Jews". What are you? Some proto-antisemetian sewing hate?

Re: WW3 Again? Heck this is getting boring.

This whole affair has „Made in TelAviv“ stamped all over it.
For instance, last year Pence was quoted as saying:
”Let me say emphatically, like the overwhelming majority of my constituents, my Christian faith compels me to cherish the state of Israel.”
Later on at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s conference: “Israel’s enemies are our enemies, Israel’s cause is our cause. If this world knows nothing else, let it know this: America stands with Israel.”
So you have a VP openly saying that he is loyal to a foreigen power. Then you have the two Jews, Jared and Ivanka whispering into Peeboy´s ear.

Basically if the Israelis want Theran off the map then the bombers will fly, it just needs a plausible casus belli.

If you believe that ISIS has the capabilities to send boats unnoticed from UAE/Oman to near the Iranian shore your second payment on the Luzern bridge is overdue.

As for motive: Perhaps Iran believes it's own bluster that it can beat the U.S military and/or that the Americans will back off. the second option already worke with Obama.

Or maybe the other way round and the US overestimate their capabilities in the Gulf. Do you remember Millenium challenge 2002?

I think it is really wrong to label it "the Jews" as it is for me extremely important to differentiate between the religion and the state of Israel.

However: In case not everyone is aware of it... Israel is having a bit of a political crisis. They had an election but Netanyahu failed to find partners for a coalition. The topic the various right winged parties could not agree on is wether or not the ultra orthodox Jews should go to the army as well... So there will be new elections in autumn. Netanyahus political agenda is essentially "death to our enemies"... so a increase in tensions in the region would very likely help him in the elections.
