Along with bungling Boris, Liam "lying" Fox, David "delusioned" Davis, Michael "moronic" Gove and a load of other incompetent halfwits she has surrounding her.

After that she should also quit.

Ah well, looks like my Grammar or lack of made little difference- but thank you so much for your kind help Merrylegs and Longbyt, again, so considerate of you to care.

She will be sacked apparently, as soon as she returns from Uganda (where Nairobi is, apparently ) ...

Re: Priti Patel should be immediately sacked

'Its not the crime, its the cover up' to borrow from Watergate.
Had she been open and honest with the PM from the start then she may have been able to weather this storm. However she kept back information on two additional meetings with the Israelis e.g. in New York, and it looks like she also tried to swerve Prime Minister's questions.

Quote:
Fresh evidence also emerged to suggest the Cabinet minister deliberately avoided facing questions in the Commons on Tuesday, by bringing forward her flight to Uganda.
Source
All this has caused further embarrassment for the beleaguered Theresa May and for that reason she has to go. The cabinet is a team and she's not been acting like a team player.

Definitely. One wonders why she didn't coordinate.

Her Idea of supporting the field hospital is not a bad one - doctors from several countries already work in Israeli Hospitals treating Syrian patients.

Re: Priti Patel should be immediately sacked

The plot thickens

Quote:
Number 10 instructed Development Secretary Priti Patel not to include her meeting with the Israel foreign ministry official Yuval Rotem in New York on 18 September in her list of undisclosed meetings with Israelis which was published on Monday, the JC has learned.

Ms Patel listed 12 meetings in the statement, and the emergence of two more last night is thought to have made her sacking imminent.

But the JC understands, from two different sources, that Ms Patel did disclose the meeting with Mr Rotem but was told by Number 10 not to include it as it would embarrass the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

Promising UK tax-payers' money to the IDF, and to think there's outrage that people avoid paying tax.

Indeed, I do care. Non-English English from members who accept that they are not perfect English speakers is one thing, a non-English word order in a title, written by a teacher of English is, for me, a different kettle of fish. And when asked if it is 'real' English or not, then I give my (unqualified) opinion.

Re: Priti Patel should be immediately sacked

Good Riddance.

She was bad at her job, and her entire department is uneecassary. UKAID should go back to the FCO, so that one policy can be applied across all the diplomatic channels.

That, and the fact that she is sly, self centred, and clearly cares more about her own agenda then the good of the country.

She is a perfect tory. Just a terrible person.

Would not be surprised if there was a little welcoming party waiting for her when she landed....

This is fantastic to watch :-)

A tory minister getting hoisted by their own petard, for the second time in one week...

The flight has now landed. Presumably she went through the Nothing to Declare channel.

Just in case anyone questions it.
This is EF, where real English people make mistakes and typos all the time- not a classroom. Therefore totally irrelevant to the thread in hand, as it were.
I totally accept my English is not perfect, and getting worse as years go by- now 8 years since we left UK. The fact you feel the need to point out any minor mistake, made in haste and without checking- seems to say a lot more about you, than on my level of English, sadly. But be my guest if it really makes you feel better. If I felt the need to correct the mistakes made here on EF by native speakers, it would take forever...Makes me smile when I think about the level of some of my colleagues in the UK who taught French and German ...

But I'd really ike to know what you think about Priti Patel, as it is the relevant subject here, a Forum and not a classroom, as said above. Thanks again.

Re: Priti Patel should be immediately sacked

Pot, kettle, black.

Maybe I should follow British politics closely, but I've been away for almost fifty years, and I don't. What surprises me in this case is simply how Ms Patel thought no-one would find out about/take exception to the meetings.

Anyway I would have imagined that everyone in the party would be doing their very level best to ensure that no further 'black marks' come up while the Brexit situation is causing so many problems already. But then, loyalty to the 'chief', the party or ones colleagues seems to be lacking generally. Perhaps it always was.
