Maybe Kate doesn't take the role of a model woman, looking pretty on pics, as such an injustice and actually likes it. If I was a royal, I'd also make sure of a no notion of my private life, out of respect for my family. She seems to not have a problem with all this, doesn't feel opressed nor in submission despite some women maybe wanting her to. Who knows...I feel the same respect, maturity, selflessness and discipline from her husband. But I am not from the UK nor exposed to the royal shinenigans.

I always laugh at all the stuff about Kate supposedly heading to St Andrews University as an undergraduate because William had a place there. I can assure you as a Fifer, ordinary mortals don't get in there that easily even if they're public school educated.

She had already accepted a place - William was bound for Edinburgh, then a few weeks before the start of his first semester there were worries about press intrusion and security with Edinburgh being a busy city. He was advised St Andrews would be better as it's a small coastal town and nobody would bother him there. The rest as they say is history

It is a bit kitch. And considering that that title probably belongs to all wives at some point, not roally exquisite.

I don't even try to imagine their marriage. No wonder the press fabulates a lot on these sort of things. The public wants it. Dirt sells.
I think behind their glamours facade they're a pretty normal couple. Except they're a couple who has a lot of help to put up that facade - butlers, maids, hairdressers, nannies, you name it.
But, they have little privacy. I wouldn't like to be hunted mercilessly by a fanatic press, it's hard enough to establish boundaries on a public forum like EF lol. Every apparition of theirs is judged and dissected like there's no tomorrow, like the world problems have been all solved.

I disagree. If they wanted privacy, they wouldn't have done the interview. If they wanted privacy, they wouldn't leak family affairs to the press via Gayle King. I don't think they want privacy in as much as they want to control the media and the way they're presented.

Well, I meant the other royals -Kate and William*. According to EF they were also hunted by the media - how they met, was it staged, what her family is like, etc etc. But if the shoe fits....I think my post could have been about Meghan and Harry too..

I don't think Kate et.co had it easy in the beginning. There's a difference between the way these two couples or rather the women in the couple (as always) were treated though. You might agree or disagree with that and I don't want to excuse, accuse or explain in any way that interview with Oprah.
Suffice to say - it was a good global distraction from corona...

Gayle King is a newscaster and BFF of Oprah's. I believe they met while working for TV network back in the day (long before Oprah made it big with her talk show).

I am not sure Gayle King would be as successful were it not for her association with Oprah as she was referenced/featured often by Oprah on her talk show.
