| | Brexit (and other UK stuff) information roadshow in Swizterland
Just saw this for UK nationals living here, I'm sorry it's too late for Geneva and Bern, but for the rest of us it might be highly useful. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/b...-liechtenstein | The following 6 users would like to thank MsWorWoo for this useful post: | |

They could just put a tape on repeat that says "we don't know yet".
And they only have to look at the poll numbers from the expat vote to know our thoughts on it.

I don't think there has been a poll on how we were going to/did vote... apart from the vote of course, but mine went to (some grim northern town) not Switzerland, so I don't know how they would find out unless they ask..... or they look at the EF poll.....

I received a reply to my email which contained (it seemed) information on a 101different subjects, except the Brexit Roadshow! However, the email did state that they will contact me within the next 20 days! I suppose everything comes to she who waits!

Imagine my shock. | | | | | Indeed - but we're also people who are impacted much more by Brexit than people in the UK, and in most cases have a more rounded and detailed view of it.
Given the current status, I really don't see what information they're going to be able to provide - there aren't any hard details.
It's like one of those supposedly reassuring management talks, where you end up only reassured that senior management will be OK.

Imagine my shock. | | | | | As opposed to Brexiters wanting to get into bed with any globalist so long as it's not the EU?

I would have thought that the people who actually live and work in the UK would be, at least, equally impacted by Brexit.

You have no idea whether the Brits living here have interests back in the UK which will be directly or indirectly (positively or negatively) affected by Brexit.
For UK citizens, if the worst came to the worst, it would mean a major upheaval - loss of job, home and the country in which your kids were born because you'd be forced to leave Switzerland. Personally, and as abjectly incompetent as I find the government / Brexit negotiators, I don't think this will happen but it is still a remote possibility on the table so, yes, is potentially a worse outcome than for most UK people living and working in the UK.
It's very telling that you find someone's right to an equal vote and to have an opinion "arrogant" if it differs from yours.

My husband is going to Bern this evening.

I said the people who live and work in the UK would be, at least, equally impacted by Brexit.
Now you're saying that UK expats might be more negatively impacted, which might well be the case, the same as Brits in the UK may be more positively impacted.
