We are in Switzerland, every Swiss has a knife!

Tom
I always used to carry a swiss army knife for general purpose but found it bulky and i never used 99% of the things on it..

I always have a nice spyderco with me now, much slimmer, much more useful and i can even shave with it if i suddenly need to.

I have a belt pouch, and regularly use everything on it, though mostly the big blade, flat and philips screwdrivers, bottle opener, corkscrew, and toothpick.

Law needs to come hard on such people.

It happens, even suicide bombings, but attacks by women are less frequent.

Why Manor? Why other women, impure or random ones? Something related to the burka ban in TI? The police will come back with some interesting answers. It's not the first time not-so-bright rules attract not-so-bright people https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/protest...r-ban/42268070

Once I heard a story about burkas in Ticino and tourists, not sure how much truth or lies about it. . There was no problem with tourists because they're used to follow laws in their homeplace (i.e. obey to men). So, if they're told burkas are not allowed by law they comply. The issues are with the local ones.

Terror in Lugano?

A woman with “jihadist background” has attacked two shoppers in the Swiss city of Lugano on Tuesday evening, local police report.

Two women were injured in the attack. One sustained serious, but not life-threatening injuries, while the other received only minor injuries.

The attacker, a 28-year-old Swiss female, brandished a serrated knife in a department store. A member of the public was able to pacify her until police could arrive and arrest her, police said.

Unfortunate when the global number of deaths relating to terrorism has fallen by 59 percent since 2014, according to findings by the Global Terrorism Index (GTI).

“The woman was suffering from mental health problems at this time. After returning to Switzerland, she was admitted to a psychiatric clinic,” Fedpol said, adding that she had not come to Fedpol's attention in any terror-related investigation since 2017.

Hard to imagine how they'd enforce a burka ban with everyone wearing masks!

The ban on covering faces (AKA burka ban) started on TI on mid 2016. I remember reading somewhere most of the fines went to football fans and not to women wearing burkas. Also, a ridiculously amount of fines per year (<10) compared to the requests by the police to take the face cover off and people complied.

Of course, that was before 2020.
