| | A knife or axe attack just happened in (*fill in the blank*)
In Luebeck Germany, an attacker stabbed several persons in a bus. Apparently the attacker, a German citizen of supposedly Iranian origin has been apprehended. http://www.ln-online.de/Lokales/Lueb...t-in-Kuecknitz |

I'm sure it is not terror but just an unfortunate accident with recreational axe swinging.

France: Nice, three dead, in a church. Others injured.
Is there anything at all one can do when the knife wielding attacker comes at you?

That’s the problem. In the US there would be at least a small chance of somebody conceal carrying a weapon and shooting the bastard.

If you're running away, try not to run up the stairs (because you thereby become more and more trapped in the building) but out of the building.
If you can find your voice, sometimes it can distract or in the best case even frighten an attacker if you roar or growl very loudly, rather than cry or scream or beg for help.

Not to mention all the idiots who allow their kids to be able to shoot themselves with their guns.

The running away? Yes.
The roaring? Yes. Very effective.

Tom | | | | | Exactly!
Here is how you do it: Point your index finger at assailant as if it was a gun and make shooting sounds with your lips
