That's an overall good thing. Genes of stupid people will not propagate as much.
That's a misconception. Whilst those who have chosen to ignore vaccinations are more likely to catch whatever is going, the larger worry are those who cannot have the vaccinations or have compromised systems and therefore are more likely to be exposed.

Still worth the risk. You can't persuade them to change anyway, so the risk is there irrelevant if they die or live. So letting them die off is an overall good thing which will reduce the systemic risk.

I do apologize for surviving the measles and a bunch of other childhood ailments just fine.

Did you have a window seat in biology?

They will be practicing the 3 Fs before they die off. They will also be voting.

No it isn't, did you actually read the second part of Ato's post?. It's attitudes like that only fuel the anti-vaxxer ideology.

Not strictly true; some people can't have the vaccine for medical reasons or it simply doesn't take, as in your case. That's why we need high vaccination rates to protect these very people. Anti-vaxxers are the worst of the worst; hateful, selfish, intellectually-challenged and over-privileged.
...and some people can't have the vaccines because there aren't any vaccines available. Just saying. There's a whole "saga" with insufficient medicines in state hospitals in EE, I won't even go into the painful subject. On the other hand, knowing a real anti-vaxxer who happens to be a public figure, yep, it totally fits the profile.

As did I, but I think I would rather have avoided them, thank you very much. As my mum, a former SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit) nurse once said: "if you think measles is a harmless childhood disease, you obviously haven't held a baby suffering from measles encephalitis".

Just curious but I wonder if anti vaxxers are as cavalier in their attitude to vaccinations against things like tetanus, for example.

What happens when they've put a garden fork through their foot and the doctor at the hospital asks them if they're up to date with their tetanus? Do they say "no thanks, I don't do vaccinations" and hope for the best?

Actually, they do. Just go to any anti-vax blog or social media page, it's full of comments and stories just like this. It's unbelievable. Many even advocate against vaccines for their pets, because as you're well aware, rabies and distemper are harmless childhood diseases.

It depends if these people are the diabolical scheming "shedders" I mentioned earlier.

Well injecting a filthy soiled garden tool with a rake of natural filth is perfectly acceptable. But stay away from me with them sterilised needles with your lab made, proven poisons.

It's a good question, and I've no idea.

A quick google around based on Paddy's post above and it seems it's mostly parents advising other parents against the jabs for their kids. Using language like "the vaccines are packed with toxins".

Apparently you should find a doctor that will give you a magnesium infusion to sort out your tetanus but the "evil pharma-controlled doctors will dismiss you".

A magnesium infusion? Because finding pure magnesium is a very simple affair seeing as to purify it it has to go through checmical processes.

But have they not been told that magnesium is flammable and used in the production of fireworks and fertilisers? Surely something related to things such as these shouldn't be used in the human body.

And everybody knows motorcycles are dangerous death machines ridden by people who suffer vaccine provoked mental issues. Oh won't somebody think of the children!

I'm not pricipally an anti vaxxer. In fact I suspect before I saw a nurse or a doctor when I arrived, there was probably this huge needle, vaccinating me for (against?) polio, smallpox and God knows what. I know my booklet was always a lot fuller than those of the kids around me.

I went through all the childhood ailments here. I just read that there was no vaccine available for (against? LOL, someone help me here) measles in Switzerland until after I went through them, so I doubt there was any in Peru back then either. Pheeew, that should save me from some vaxxer-hooligan-attack outside my garage door one night. Now I'm gonna ruin it: I doubt I would have been vaccinated if there had been. But I'm really not sure - as it wouldn't have been me to decide on that - but somehow those Swiss childhood ailments back then were a normal thing to get over with once and for all, while polio or smallpox never were. And neither is tetanus. Even though I don't think everybody just had/has tetanus vaccination. I remember it used to be "if you have animals, you need tetanus vaccination". In Peru it wasn't clear what animals could bite a rather uncontrollable child, in Switzerland I always had pets. So it was clear.

The past years I told my clients to get all the information from their GP and decide for themselves. I did not advice them in either direction, because I'm still not sure about all this re childhood ailments. When I do research, the official Swiss attitude seems to be: Vaccination. When I look how it was: We all got through them and never got them again. This idea of "insuring" oneself against everything leads to believe in complete safety. There is no such thing. Ever.

So I don't just principally agree with having each and everything vaccinated.
I do have many since I was born - had nothing to do with the decision but ever since then I travelled a lot, so they had a point getting it done - and yes, I boost those every ten years (or when necessary) as once it's done it might as well be kept. But when I got my polio boosted last summer (so, slammer, I'm safe - or as safe as I can be ) my doctor was all surprised that I never once hat a hepatitis B shot. So here I am, the twat, dear PaddyG, would you believe, I'm still alive and healthy. What a miracle.

An other storm in a teacup. If you get all the vaccinations you want, why the need of calling all the others names? You're safe, aren't you or don't you truts the vaccine? Everytime they eradicated an illness people went and died of something else. Might as well live in peace together until the day.

As I mentioned, the official stance here seems to be to get vaccinated for (against) measles but it's not compulsory. TIS. Someone will soon tell them to "go sort this out". LOL.
