I thought it was lower. The WHO target is 95% but I read that it was 87% in 2017 for Switzerland which is pretty low (lower than India) but another chart shows 95%.

And:

Here and Here
Some stats include all possible vaccinations and their uptake in their respective countries and others concentrate on the baseline which are most commonly offered around the globe.

I guess as this thread is about measles, it should be that stat that applies, which the OECD puts at 95% in Switzerland in 2017.

Curious to know if the stats making up the non-vaccinated include anti-vaxxers as well as medically unfit unvaccinated people.

I'm a member of the Flat Earth Society. Bit of a laugh actually and I love to wind some people up by telling them why I'm right and they are wrong and the earth is flat and not round.

I know really that it is round but it does take a couple of pompous people down a peg or two when they lose their rag trying to prove they're right!

For balance I'm also a member of the 100 country club, so have been all asquare the world
Me too!

In reality, unless you work in Aerospace, physics, or some sort of other global mathematical field, the earth IS flat (for almost all day-to-day activities and tasks)

You've been here in Switzerland since at least 2009 and never been hiking?

Re: Thanks anti-vaxxers, you twats

Most people who choose not to vaccinate their kids have no expertise and use inaccurate information to empower false beliefs and ignore experts that dedicate their lives to researching diseases.

I had an anti-vaxxer work colleague who decided not to vaccinate her kids and constantly discouraged new mums in the office because of autism risks. This fairytale stemmed from a paper published in the 90's that identified a link between autism and the MMR vaccine. The study was later proven to be a fraud and 10 (out of 13) authors debunked their own research and retracted their inputs. Despite pointing this out, she continued to spread this lie.

Most of us are vaccinated and we survived to tell the story! There was a discussion in Australia last year to ban unvaccinated children from schools. This should a global policy that puts herd immunity and the vulnerable (the ones that cannot be vaccinated) against the uninformed who think they know better!

Well played.

I guess I'm not a 'flat-earther' rather a 'non-round-earther'.

Moreover the study was on 12 cases (children) only, by far not enough to have any statistical relevance. Wakefield, the main author of that study, can no longer practice in the UK after he's been struck off the register.

Oh, and reportedly Wakeland holds a patent on a potential alternative to the standard vaccine. Only a devil would think that this results in significant monetary interests that may have him place his own interests before anybody else's.

Probably not doable here as every child has the right to free public education.

Being pedantic, use of those instruments are irrelevant to the curvature of the earth.
Designing those instruments, definitely, but I covered that.

Fair enough,
If you have to consider the curvature of the earth when you use your phone/gps/TV, by all means I was wrong (and you have some odd electronics )

but me personally (and I'd like to think a lot of others) have never had to make a decision where: "wait, we haven't considered the curvature of the earth" was said and would change the outcome.

Doesn't matter, either will have more surface area than a flat pin-head.
