[Austria] legalises gay marriage from 1. Jan 2019

Australia legalises gay marriage from 1. Jan 2019:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/05/w...-marriage.html

https://www.politico.eu/article/aust...izes-same-sex/

EDIT: As other helped me realise, I made a typo. This should have read AUSTRIA not AUSTRALIA. Sorry.

Re: Australia legalises gay marriage from 1. Jan 2019

It is kind of "olds" isn't it?

Here some more recent statements:
https://diepresse.com/home/innenpoli...-Ehe-fuer-alle

Ruling parties (VP and FP) decided there will be no new or changed law. Which means the constitution court ruling from December 2017 comes into force on January 2019, and marriage as well as registered partnership will be available for any couples. At least as long as a new elected Austrian parliament does change or comes up with a new law.

O.k shall it be. Just hope it will not lead to some kind of "Blitz divorce" problems. At least as the law has not been changed there is should be no procedure how to directly convert a marriage into a partnership and vice versa w/o a divorce or dissolution between.

I personally still do not see the purpose of registered partnerships and be in big favor of marriage and marriage only, but for all.

Australia, not Austria
Call me confused. Title says Australia, linked news Austria. But we are still in Swaziland, right?

Nevertheless same-sex marriage is a thing in Australia since 9 December 2017,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-s...e_in_Australia
Austria constitution court ruling was 5 December 2017 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-s...l_Court_ruling.

A few letters and days of difference. No wonder one is confused.

Re: Australia legalises gay marriage from 1. Jan 2019

Oh, sorry, that's my mistake. I didn't mean Australia, but meant the neighbouring country of Swaziland , namely Austria (new news). Could a mod please fix the title for me? Thanks.

EDIT: thanks, 3Wishes.
