Yes I do: I trust my own criteria but not that of other foreigners living in Switzerland. I gladly sacrifice my vote so that other foreigners are not allowed to vote.
Oh, I see. It all makes sense now.

Yes, knitting is powerful

"It was more like a rock concert." Hahahaha, awesome.

I always knew Trump did not win, Democrats lost. This forthcoming election is going to be different, looks like.

Don't be so sure about it.

Read the article to the last sentence.

Nobody is. But he scored quite high yesterday.

I did.

It is a pretty honest text. I like it.

Meaning, this time he will get voted on what he'll have achieved, not just because what Dems are failing to come up with. Entitlement hasn't won anyone any elections.

Think the irony of it all is from what I've read is that he never intended to win the first election. More like a publicity stunt.

Even better. But I disagree on that. Deep down he wants to improve his opponents, since it means improving the country he leads. He is too investments/return oriented to just do stunts for laughs.

There needs to be more official political parties. It's just too difficult to represent people by providing just a "left" and a "right" wing. We need the whole chicken.

I think the "left" and "right" have both long lost their traditional definitions.

So you voluntarily agree with paying taxes for years and years and having no say at least in the local affairs (not federal or maybe not even cantonal) - municipality e.g. building a new school, kita, stadium etc.? What kids can get in school and what not?
Weird. Not that we have a choice, but frankly the willingness to give up the right to ask authorities for some sort of accountability is surprising.
Works that way in pretty much every other country on earth.

Did they ever have "traditional" definitions, or have they always been evolving?

Would Robespierre have applauded Soros? Or would he have sent him to the guillotine?

How can he want to improve the country when he so vigorously denies science and eviscerates education? it seems that his limits of improvement are relegated to the stock market. he doesn’t seem to understand the value of investment in people.

Hmmmm. Dunno. Just know that the commies were to be blamed for a major semantic shift. "We want equality. That we define by denying you any rights whatsover".

There are more parties, however hardly anybody is interested in them.

Maybe only true for certain values of education and science.

What is the value of knowledge and education if they stop teaching humility and respect? Years of pie in the sky and ivory tower academics confirming one another's theories (and hate of "deplorables") is precisely what brought Trump to power.

Maybe academia needs to take a good long look in the mirror and then rediscover its core values.

True.

Of course not. That is my experience I was willing to share. Where the semantics of left/right got...revolutionized.

Besides the entertaining, a lot of people do not really vote in favour, but they do vote against. If you are against Trump and want to avoid having him as president again it only makes sense to vote in favour of the democrats instead of a political meaningless vote for small parties like the greens or libertarians.
