Kind of wondering about it.

What do you think?

Too early to tell. If the election was held again tomorrow, he probably would. The Ds don't really have any appealing options right now and the economy continues to hum.

You make it sound like Hillary is for Trump what the Jews were for Hitler, a means to the end.

Unless the economy tanks in a major way he'll probably be reelected. Maybe even if it does, after all that would be the Fed's and the fake media's fault, never Donald's.

First they need to find someone to run, hated or not.

Re: Will Trump get reelected

I’ve travelled through some red states this year and was amazed about the level of support he is getting from otherwise intelligent people. And if sex scandals and Russian connections don’t scare conservatives anymore I could honestly not imagine what could change their opinions... so I go with yes.

It’s bad for the western world, but in my eyes only speeds up a development that was happening anyways.

Re: Will Trump get reelected

I think so.

Not that I'd support it, under any "normal" circumstances. But people will again, imho, vote against the alternatives, not for him. If people trust DT more than the alternatives, it is high time somebody started to think about what it is that voters hate about the alternatives. It is definitely not the immigrants. That issue is completely separate.

Bernie would never have gotten in, sadly he carries the „stigma“ of socialism and the generic American can‘t differentiate between socialism and communism.

Re: Will Trump get reelected

Probably Trump will get in since he has a group of supporters who solidly support him.

I have an old friend from Scotland who emigrated to the US many years ago.
He is a rabid Trump supporter. He runs an online business in Facebook and frequently posts extreme adverts for Trump.
I have several times called him on ads that are clearly completely untrue or under the belt but he stands by every word.

Now he seems to have been banned from Facebook. Not good for his business but I assume he is still a Trump supporter?

Popular vote is irrelevant, and for good reason.

That's how populists get elected.

Seriously, the process is from a time when only male white landowners could vote. Although it has been amended, I don't see what is wrong with one person/one vote. That defines a democracy. If you're afraid of people from New York or California swaying the vote, why? Every state in the US has rural areas which mirror red areas values - California and New York included.

The winner of the presidential election should be the person winning the popular vote, end of. States which have fewer people should not exert undue influence. Fairness.

For other issues, the senate makes sense to put each state on equal footing. Although truth be told, states do have too much lattitude in managing things like health care and voting rights.

Uhm and Trump would be what then? He's the very definition of a populist. Yet he didn't get the popular vote.

But as much as you and I agree on other things, we'll never see eye to eye on this one

Jep and that's also what a real democracy would look like.
