| | Thoughts on conspiracy theories and other far out theories?
A user recently posted again about the moon landings being a hoax, and indeed quite a large amount of people do believe that it was.
Then it occurred to me.... what conspiracy theories or far out theories do members of this forum believe there might actually be a grain of truth to? Bigfoot.... chemtrails.... JFK assasination... Lady Di... Area 51 and Roswell .... Bermuda Triangle etc etc etc.
So does anyone lend any credence to any such conspiracies or theories? There are one or two I am on the fence about myself.

Those are not conspiracy theories. That's just what they want you to believe.

Shingle Street and Operation Sea Lion. As for the rest, nah... Fact is always stranger than fiction which is why governments have secrecy acts and laws.

My dad once told me that he thought that Princess Margaret potentially died of aids and that is why she was cremated. That is one I could see there being some truth in.

For some even Trump getting elected would be some kind of a scheme. I think believing in a "conspiracy theory" really depends on how much credible info one has and how one works with probability.

The question is, are there any that you lend credence to personally?

For a lifetime's worth of Alien, space, and like kind conspiracy theories see : Ancient Aliens from the US History channel... Highly entertaining TV show. Much of it inspired by Erich von Däniken a Swiss himself, I believe he even has a theme park here down by Lucern. Been watching it for years, always entertaining. https://www.history.com/shows/ancient-aliens |

I only believe it when I partake in it. I have done none of the above so my credibility is very low. |

No matter what I try, the pasta just crumbles. And... there's no way you could generate enough heat to prepare even a small portion of spaghetti with a hand cranked machine!

My favorite conspiracy theory is the one that claims that Bush knew there were no WMDs in Iraq.
Everybody knows Iraq had to be invaded.
There is another conspiracy theory that US was supplying large amounts of weapons to Syrian free fighters, while everybody knows they were just getting them from their grass roots movement.
There are also some theories that link the US election found donors ethnicity with US foreign wars, but that's the most ridiculous one...

I got my shit together, learnt VHDL coding, programmed the DSP and made PCB’s in Altium. Proved them wrong!
Pasta machine is working fine now!

Namely not a word of the Brexiteers favourite conspiracy theories that all the facts and figures
concerning the consequences of Britain leaving the EU, put forward by the IMF, the Bank of England,
the UK's Office for Budget Responsibility, Her Majestys Treasury, etc, etc are to be taken with a
huge pinch salt as ( according to the Brexiteers ) they all have vested interests for painting a
gloomy picture about Brexit as they're all in cahoots with the EU.
Of course they could rank as far out conspiracy theories but not in the eyes of a Brexiteer !!

There are one or two I am on the fence about myself. | | | | | There is also far too much UFO, or UAP's (Unidentified Ariel Phenomena as they are now known) evidence for it to be simply dismissed as natural phenomenon. There are many official military declassified documents showing they take it seriously, and too many eye-witness sightings from pilots (who are best-placed to identify known aircraft and current technology) and first-hand accounts from senior military personnel.
If a highly trained fighter pilot or his superiors cannot identify a craft in his airspace and say that said craft does not correspond to any of our known designs, technologies or flight characteristics/aerodynamics, then it is by definition a UFO (whether terrestrial or otherwise). We have no KNOWN technologies that can hover in place and immediately change direction at super/hypersonic speeds at a moments notice and yet pilots have seen them and been baffled, shocked and scared for decades.
