Tom likes to pretend that Switzerland is not Europe.
In his view, Europe is that group of libtards, neo-lefties, mother f***ers up to no good called European Union.

So no, he's not Europenised.

(or something like this)

Re: A stabbing just happened (*fill in the blank*)

4 dead in stabbing in French police station.

"A knife-wielding employee has killed four fellow members of staff at police headquarters in the centre of the French capital, Paris.

The attacker, who has not been named, was later shot dead by police.

Witnesses described scenes of panic, with many people fleeing the building in tears. The area in the île de la Cité has been sealed off.

The attack comes a day after police went on strike across France over increasing violence towards officers.

There has been no official statement so far on a possible motive for the attack.

However, police union officials have suggested the attacker may have been involved in a workplace dispute."

Very strange incident. In the end, it looked like the police executed an unarmed man instead of arresting him. Very odd.

I was listening to the BBC and an eyewitness who had been on a bus at the scene said he pulled back his coat to reveal what looked like a stab vest but could easily have been a suicide vest. Apparently it got the police beating a hasty retreat but it probably was what did for him.

It seems unlikely it could have been a suicide vest though, considering he had about 10 people swarming round him moments before and would certainly have detonated it then. I suspect only the police officer will ever know.

It also seemed to be after he was shot that he pulled his coat up.

Latest from BBC says that he had a 'hoax explosive device' strapped to his body..

I just hope the cop doesn't get the usual trouble for doing his job.

In fairness, a cop's usual job is arresting a suspect. They are not Judge Judy and executioner.

I disagree .. The cop's job is to protect the public and if that involves neutralising a threat then sobeit.

I'm afraid that isn't the deal in the UK anyway, perhaps in the US with the widespread firearm ownership and "Serve and Protect" badge it may be. Standard police tactics in the UK do not extend to neutralizing a threat by deadly force.

The threat had already been neutralized by brave members of the public. Do you not think if the fella had realized he had been overpowered and had nowhere to go, he might have blown up any device he had on him at that point?

You can see in the video that at least one cop has his yellow taser out, they were probably hoping to arrest him but these cops have little time to sit and have a cup of tea and a chat, it's literally life or death..
You can't use normal reasoning with somebody who does this sort of thing, maybe he was waiting for maximum casualties before detonating "the vest".

That would have been when there were 7 or 8 civilians and police around, the moment had passed.

It will be investigated by the Independent Office for Police Conduct anyway, so I am sure a fair verdict will be reached.

Re: A stabbing just happened (*fill in the blank*)

There has also been a stabbing incident in The Hague today, apparently. With very similar conditions. But only injuries apparently, nobody killed. Possibly a copycat attack.

Nice to see you have your priorites right.

Not a word for the murdered and maimed, only concerns about the treatment of the murderer.

While it is easy for us to sit here in our armchairs and wax lyrical about what we think should be done in that situation, if you are there and have seen a terror attack and have even an inkling of suspicion that the guy still poses a threat, no to mention has a bomb strapped to him, then it's understandable that they focus on ending that threat, and I don't agree with you that they don't have the power to do that in exceptional circumstances if deemed justified. Their job is to protect the public and I think this situation hardly constitutes wanton and senseless police brutality.

I have zero sympathy for any terrorist, that having just made the conscious choice to slaughter random innocents, is killed in these circumstances.

You were doing so well until that last line, where barbarism overtook reasoning. Do you support the death penalty, out of interest?

Anyway, it will now be independently investigated to see if the execution was justified.
