I think some people here need to work on context and how to frame questions.
It seems to be the answers that people are having trouble with.

Surely you don't see the irony of justifying the police shooting someone because you think they can't be reformed and yet a convicted murderer out on day release as part of his reform plays a pivotal role in saving the situation from a much worse outcome?

I think some people here need to understand that the state - including its armed representatives - is not their friend.

Why are you even asking me that question though? I've at no point given an opinion on the worth and merits of rehabilitation. My post was in response to being accused of supporting state extrajudicial executions. We can all play the non sequitur game.

You've never given an opinion on anything, that you've not later tried to wriggle out of, DA.

You asked for context and couldn't see the frame of the questions. I obliged. If you can't understand it or don't want to answer, that's your choice. Nothing "non sequitur" about it. Just plain old reading comprehension.

You said that you were "not bothered" that the police shot a citizen rather than arrest him.

That's supporting state extrajudicial executions. You can't sit on the fence on this one: you either think it's wrong or you think it's right. You clearly think it's right.

At least we're back on topic now. I said that I'm not bothered that the police shot a madman who had already killed and injured others and had the potential to do more harm. This isn't supporting extrajudicial executions, it's prioritising the safety of others over the rights of said madman.

except he didn't, he'd been beaten senseless and had what, 3 people pinning him down, if he was running around waving knives then fair enough, shooting an unarmed man who's lying on the floor just isn't cricket

He should have considered that before strapping a fake bomb to his chest.

If they'd shot him the first time instead of releasing him, there would be fewer victims today.

Who cares, the bugger is dead and he isn‘t going to do it again.

His actions leave behind a trail of grief and / or shock for those involved or relatives of those hurt or killed.

I was in Manchester on Friday staying with an old friend who's wife was in London that day... working at the event to celebrate the success of the programme that the terrorist had successfully taken part in to 'rehabilitate'. My friends wife and a colleague came out of the conference room because it was too hot. The colleague said, "Let's go downstairs and get some fresh air". My friends wife was about to follow when she saw someone in the adjoining room she wanted to catch up with. The colleague, named Saskia, went downstairs and got stabbed to death.

Seeing my friends wife over the weekend afterwards, it's pretty clear who can care and some of the intended and unintended consequences.

Christ, I pass by there on my bike every morning, it's about 100m from where I'm sat. Thank goodness I went to work late this morning.

Very strange attack though, can't imagine it was random.

No way would I believe that was random, not if he was in the apartment stairwell.
