Where do you get your news?

In this ever more polarized political climate it's too easy to get sucked into the same news sources which reinforce rather than challenge your beliefs, Facebook I'm looking at you.

So where do you get your news from? rabidrightwingerpress.com? or veganunicorngardendaily.org?

I've just been put onto this lot and so far I like it; news articles gathered from the left, centre and right, and marked as such.

Re: Where do you get your news?

I normally read the same story via a number of different sources and try to sift out the stuff that doesn't stack up / sounds a bit made-up. It's interesting how the various outlets present it, depending on their political bias. Some directly contradict each other sometimes.

There was a time where news outlets in the US were legally forced to offer both sides of an argument. And I am not making that up, Reagan made Fox possible...

I read different outlets depending on the topic:
German state news for an overview: Ard. ZDF.

Guardian, die Zeit for in depth articles.

The BBC for international stories and the SCMP for anything on Asia.

Russia Today for the fun…

Oh, musn´t forget, the Lancashire Telegraph just to remind me of the bullet I dodged had I stayed in Blackburn.

Re: Where do you get your news?

1. 20 Minuten (which is how the younger generation of Swiss get their news and it's a great way to improve your German)
2. The Guardian
3. BBC
4. Huff Post (which is definitely left-leaning so I take it with a grain of salt)
5. The Bote (our regional newspaper)

I also watch the Rachel Maddow Show and Morning Joe for my left-leaning political news and opinion pieces.

Stevens Point is a cute little place. I've never met anyone in CH who has heard of it, much less knows where it is!

In a way it is.

I have a friend who promised to give his teenage daughter 2CHF for every grammatical error she could find.

He deeply regrets it.

Mainly BBC and CNN. Occasionally look at The Guardian, the Financial Times and the Economist.

Are you joking? The network might present a lot of non-US news in a semi-balanced manner, but when it comes to covering Trump the anchors tend to totally lose their minds. It might be where the term Trump Derangement Syndrome originated, because they are so animated about everything Trump does.
