That’s the most “off-topic” thread ever. And we are in Switzerland for God’s sake not in Sweden. I repeat, we live in Switzerland not in Sweden or Swaziland

Many open a Paypal account and solicit donations online. The more sophisticated set up a crowd funding project.

Re: What will the beggars do?

The Swiss have just introduced a new Chf 1k note, not a hope in hell of cash disappearing here !

Cash is useful, my daughter just went to Rust with her friends, i gave her €20 for souvenirs (even got some change back surprisingly) but if there was no cash, i not so sure i'd want to give her a pre-paid card.

Cash for kids is good, it's tangible, they can see what things costs and how it all works, a card.....tap in a code and Bob's your uncle, far less educative.

I said, and listen carefully, "The Swiss have just introduced a new Chf 1k note"

The key word is "introduced", i didn't say the note in itself was new.

They didn't just introduce it, they did it more than six months ago!

Re: What will the beggars do?

Ehm... what is this "beggar" thing your are talking about? first of all this is not a place where beggars are welcome as such (swiss towns)... I would think RAV would have a fit if all you quoted was "sitting around poking my bowl where it did not belong" - F*ing hell, there are many places where it is not really well seen that some person sits on their behind all day to earn "some" money - you could be scaring crows, picking up litter, guarding something, driving cows, servicing tourists - what? work is crap but hey, we all have to eat, really we all earn money sitting in one place for numerous hours doing shit - and you omtatsat should you not be retiring soon?

That was last year.
Now - wisely foreseeing the worries of omtatsat and other maybe not that generous supporters of beggars - they just came out with the new 100-frank note. Thriftier, should you run into more than one beggar a day

I'm not sure what the problem is.

Affordable, contactless and safe peer to peer payment methods already exist, and we will see more and more of that over time. Sweden is ahead of the curve in adopting alternatives to cash.

Not sure what this has to do with conspiracy theories or alternative facts.
