My personal experience is that most people seem to think it is over and have given up on social distancing.
A second wave here is inevitable; the only topic to discuss now is how extreme will be the new control measures or will they just let things rip.

Much worse in the US, now it is probably too late to put the cork back in the bottle for many states; I foresee a total of at least 300,000 dead before the November election.

Had lunch at the Markthalle restaurant in the Zurich Viadukt.

Each table is separated by a clear plastic panel if the distance between tables is not 2meters. Wait staff all wear plastic face shields. Rather than a paper menu, there is a QR code at each table. You scan it and the menu pops up. There is also a menu at the entrance. Seemed very clean. Lots of people are outside, we chose to eat inside.

People have had enough of this corona thing/distancing. You have to die someday from whatever causes. So live with this new threat and get on with your bloody life.

Corona virus is natures response to the way we are shitting up our environment. One should not be too surprised.

Nope. There's no more tests being done than in March and the testing capacity hasn't been increased.

I think it's been proven that lockdowns help keep the #'s down, and I wouldn't be surprised if wearing a mask in public becomes mandatory here at some point in the near future... and/or if we see a tightening up of restrictions again.

I believe a lot of people will do the same even if there is no symptoms

The graphs there appear to show the numbers per canton -- NOT the total number of new cases for all of Switzerland.

Why would someone think that lockdowns did not help prevent hospitals from becoming too overcrowded? It doesn't make sense to assume that, since we did go into lockdown and therefore have no idea what would have happened otherwise. Yes, the hospitals of some cities or areas did become overcrowded despite the lockdowns there, but the situation would probably have become much, much worse were it not for the lockdowns helping to prevent the virus from spreading at a much faster rate.

That's good. I think more people should be tested, because for one thing, that may be one of the only ways to help prevent asymptomatic people from inadvertently spreading it. I read an article the other day that said asymptomatic people tend to spread the virus more easily because they are less conscientious of covering their face when they sneeze or cough, etc. and are more likely to go out in public than someone who does have symptoms.

Not exactly the same situation as early March

Yesterday in Vaud, no masks, a few people on the train with them, saw staff sneeze in hands and do nothing in the past days in shops. It's like nothing ever happened.

Same in Zurich, almost no one wearing a mask in the train, we were the only ones wearing one in the tram...... and social distancing must be a strange word for most.......

Thank you. I was trying to find information regarding the current number of tests being done here, etc. but wasn't able to. The chart you posted offers a little glimmer of hope, I guess -- if the # of tests being done has increased so dramatically and yet the # of positive results has not (well, relatively-speaking).

I think it's good to remain cautious, though. We've already seen how quickly this thing can spread. And the # of new cases is on the upward trend right now. I think I won't feel completely at ease about it until the numbers have been extremely low, consistently, for quite some time despite the restrictions still being eased.

We had a Swiss family gathering last night. The older generation greeted each other doing the elbow or fist punch. Everyone knew we'd be in close quarters but the need to see each other was greater than the fear of the virus. We had a lot of catching up to do (due to recent deaths in the family) and it felt good to see everyone again.

Most Swiss still aren't ready to wear masks although they adhere to social distancing when possible. It's going to be interesting to see what July brings.

I've just had a weeks holiday, 5 days hiking around Zermatt and a couple of days by the Brienzersee (and very nice it was too).

My take is physical distancing is mostly only being practiced where there is no alternative but to comply, ie restaurants.
The queues at the Gornergratbahn were cheek and jowl outside and only regulated by a guard about 5m into the foyer, but nice to see the Swiss forming queues for a change.
Sunnegga just a melee, worst offenders for standing too close were the oldies, and most compliant the mums.
Both the train and funicular were rammed in the mornings, hardly any masks being worn.
My first hotel allowed access to the breakfast buffet unregulated, the second had it in a side room and a sign saying max 2 persons at once, however I counted 5 greys in there at one point.
